New Yangzi Pens Kamsarmax
China's privately-owned shipyard Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has won a newbuilding order to build up to five kamsarmax bulkers from Callimanopulos group.
An official from the Greek owner said the company recently placed an order for firm three 82,000-dwt bulkers and additional options for one plus one units.
The firm newbuildings are to be delivered in August and October of 2015 and January 2016 respectively.
Callimanopulos did not disclosed the price, while industry player estimated the ship to value around $26m apiece.
Meanwhile, the Greek owner bought a pair of 81,000-dwt bulkers from Danish owner Norden in November 2012, valued around $44m en bloc, after a long absence from the bulker arena.

Frontline 2012 is aggressively investing in newbuilding capesize fleet and has placed most of orders at Chinese shipyards, such as SWS, DSIC, and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. If the owner firms up options and those signed by LOI, then it would have a total of 32 capesize bulkers on order.
Both news are last two days and seems more order will be seeing soon. |

How did you classified new orders, seems like this order did not appear in the SGX news, as I go through the SGX annoucement did not come across this. But from the internet seems that this contract is being award in Jan 2012, and suppose to deliver in 2013 and 2014.

Not really, the sell down has been for more than 2 months, now this rebound will test the $1 mark. AGM is less than 1 month away so chances of going down is smaller.

New Yangzijiang delivers world’s largest woodchip carrier
Shanghai: Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has delivered a new 69,300dwt woodchip carrier to Shandong Asia Pacific SSYMB Pulp & Paper, a subsidiary of Singapore’s Asia Pacific Resources International Limited (APRIL), one of the world’s leading producers of fibre, pulp and fine paper.
The new vessel, Batavia Express, which will be managed by Nova Shipping, is the first of six vessels APRIL ordered at New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and it has been hailed as the largest woodchip carrier in the world.
“The delivery of the vessel will greatly enhance the company capacity of importing raw materials, and it will also promote Rizhao port in Shandong to become the largest woodchip transport port in China,” said Sukanto Tanoto, Chairman of RGE, the parent company of APRIL and Nova Shipping. [25/03/13]
