I usually believe in bonus share and spilt shares moves from fundamental strong company.

When news announce, I usually pick it up when i see the price stablize. So far so good for me on following: Keppel Corp, Semb Mar, including Ezra. I belive Ezra should hit TP of $4.5 by Chinese New year. Good Luck

Now holding to SC Global and Beng Kuang. But for Beng Kuang, now monitor closely what is Dubai World move.....

From the TA pt of view, I see a possible bullish homing pigeon on Ezra, selling pressure has eased. Stochastics have reversed too.Smiley.

Thanks musicwhiz4 for sharing.
The vessel chartering and fabrication seem to be the main cash cow ahead for Erza.

Hi Pinnacle,

It is very possible for price to drop to any level based on Mr. Market's moods. It is to our benefit if we can take advantage of such mood swings to buy into a good company cheaply.

Ezra basically has 2 units with growth moving forward, and a third up and coming one. For more details, please refer to my blog from time to time; I usually do not like to post too much on forums.

Their 3 divisions (as I see it):-

1) Vessel Chartering - Lewek Shipping handles most of this and it involves AHTS, AHT and Fast Crew Utility Vessels.
2) Construction - This involves EOC Limited listed in Norway and includes the heavy lift accommodation barge, pipe-lay vessel and upcoming FPSO.
3) Fabrication (new business unit) - This involves Saigon Shipyard and includes contracts to fabricate platforms for wells to be drilled into seabeds for O&G extraction.

musicwhizz5. I understand the bonus share works. But just that never expect it to drop by more than half.
So what's your view now on Erza. Still high in potential as before?

Hi Pinnacle and Ning77,

Perhaps I should explain a little on bonus issues. The 1:1 bonus issue means that you get double your shares at half the price. Thus, a person who purchased at 10 lots at $7.05 for example will end up with 20 lots at a cost of $3.525 per share. At the current market price of $3.30, this represents a loss of only 6.4% on your initial investment.

Pinnacle, thanks I spotted good value in Ezra back in 2005 and just held on to my shares. As the business grew and earnings increased, so did the value of my shareholdings.

Good luck to you both in your investments !

wow. misicwhiz5. Your share just keep multiplying!
You are doing great investment here.

ning77. You bought $7.05. Then you must be feeling the pain now as I drop more than half of your bought price. Even sold everything including bonus is still a loss. So both of us will have to keep this under pillow for long long time base on current sentiment.

Hi Pinnacle,

I have been a shareholder since October 2005, and have not added any further positions in the last 2 years for Ezra. I know of some shareholders at the AGM who have held since IPO !

I have no views on price as I am not price-focused, as stated in my blog. I can only give you views on the business, strategies, prospects and fundamentals.

Cheers.Smiley

Hi!  It's stated.  Bonus issued on 7 Nov (today) at closing & park in CDP on 15 Nov 9am.  Means 15 Nov 9am onwards can sell the bonus

From my previous experience with Ezra's 1:5 bonus issue back in 2006, the bonus shares should take about 1 week from XB date to be credited. CDP will send a statement informing of the bonus shares and SGX will also inform separately, if I remember correctly.

Vested

Hi Pinnacle, Yes, perceptions do not change overnight but Mr. Market (as I said) has wild mood swings. Thus, expectations may fluctuate within a certain band and we, as investors, have to tolerate a certain amount of volatility in the value of our shareholdings. This is a ver normal phenomenon and should not be indicative of anything "wrong" or "adverse" about a company. I myself am not troubled if price goes down, in fact if it goes down enough I will scoop up more. Johnconsultancy, Yes, the effects on share price and the issued share capital are similar, but I do emphasize substance over form (an accounting term, paiseh). Substance means that in substance, Ezra is doing a bonus issue. Why did they not call it a share split instead ? It could be because they are confident that future earnings will more than make up for the dilution in EPS. A share split in essence usually ONLY is done to improve liquidity of the traded counter, but has no other positive implications. There is now a dilution in EPS (same profit divided by more shares in issue) but no dilution to existing shareholders with regards to their % shareholding in the company. Comments are most welcome, I like a healthy exchange :)
