it did went up, but it fall back again to the original price.. before dividend news, around 42 cents.. after dividend, chiong to around 48cents.. 1 day before XD, 42.5 cents.. anyway i was already expecting more than 10cents drop (but was hoping not), 'cos before dividend news announce prior 1-2 weeks, the stock chiong from 36cents roughly up to 42 cents.. so some of this ppl could have insider info that buy in before news  & are the ones selling now..

SPH XD today did not see the px go beyond 7c.Likely to retrace the 7c at the next few sessions.

Likewise ThBev and Hi-P have alrdy recouped the dividend on XD date.

did you read what is Warren Buffett's Strategy, Select the Stock that gives you good Dividend.  When they can pay stock holders good dividend, it means a good and stable projection.

 

The management pays high dividend as a confidence of the coming performance of the company.

 

Tomorrow xd so shorties should be covering today. I will consider to get more if the price went too low tomorrow.

 

Lucky i already sold all at 945 with some profit, don't had a good feeling to long stock at this moment.

All index is too high for long. And it  tank too long. Play safe,  protect the cash    :)

Still think the counter is much better than Cosco. Where to find 5-6% dividend for this type of shipping company. Management is wise to diversify its business to other sector as well such as development property and oil rigging... hopefully it will rig profit in the future.
