very thinly traded stock. http://sgxstockpicker.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-have-i-learnt-over-past-three.html
might have to revise earnings estimate downwards for this counter. if fuels charges go up, it will cost elite ksb more to fly in their australian pork
if you are looking for a dividend play, this might be the one. Vested though.
I agree it will take some time for effects of population growth to trickle in. I am more sanguine with regards to currency appreciation. In my opinion, Elite KSB needs at least one more year to reveal what is its strategy going forward. So far, the acquisition of JFIP has allowed it to book higher revenues. Going overseas will remain its viable option, although it has tried with poor results, in the form of Xinde.
I wouldn't want to be too optimistics about this counter unless we see some new development. The soar in profits is mainly due to its previous business acquisition. Currency exchange has been stabilized and population growth takes time, so there isn't any obvious immediate factor to push the profit higher. The financial figures of the second half are just similar to the those in the first half telling that there is no growth in the second half year.
However, I think the current price is undervalue. It used to be over 30c when EPS and NAV are just a small fraction of what they are now. The main problem is illiquidity.
Invested when it was below 20c.
i think very soon margins will improve. the strengthening of the A$ is still on of the key reasons why its bottom line is not as good as we thought it would be. In some sense, if we were really to increase Singapoer's population by another 100,000, it means profits can also increase, as Elite KSB is into staples
Expected, thought the dividend payout is a bit too conservative.
The critical one is next half year, see if they can continue to grow further or hit a bottleneck in the organic growth.
earnings up. proposin 1.5 cents dividend for FY10
