Why we recommend a KEEP for this one, is bc indeed the FA of this company is good. But DOYDD...................
hi peg_li and Livermore, agree with both that contra play will miss the big move all the time. but contra is fun and allow one to try many many counter. buy and hold is very boring but much mroe profitable.
so it really goes agian to what one is looking for. everyone one gets what you want out fo the market.
some div fund into two and enjoy the fun of contra and the profit of buy and hold.
A waste of time playing contra. Go for long term gains not the "kopi money"
What Peg Li just said is almost exactly what I said some time back. But I also won't say buy and hold. A better way would be this in my opinion. Sell during major correction (not minor correction). How to tell difference beween 2 can be tricky. For me maybe a break below trend line or maybe look at candlestick and sell volume.
When you sell and price goes to a lower price, you would be able to buy more lots. Continue to do this in the next 5 years for all your socks and by then you will hav many lots for each stock you own.

Play contra or short term, it maybe make some money, but sometime you would miss the chance to make big money, give u an example,I bought yanlord at 1.00 and sold at 1.06, just make milk tea money, look at the current price at 2.5,bought straitasia at 0.72,sold at 0.81,current price 1.9,if I hold for long term , I will make more money.if some share is in the uptrend, can't sell it, now kepland is in the uptrend,it is very difficult to fall below 2.5,the up chance is bigger than down chance,it's just my personal opinion!

Missed the last round to unload when 3, so now I have unloaded some at 2.6. Will unload some more later on. Analyst TP about 3, so not worth taking the risk to hold for the moment. Wait for correction later on to pick up. Uptrend is still there nonetheless. Will pick up later on. WB said it is still good to hold stocks in the long run, even at this level. My opinion only.

Quite truth. But if u see F&N case, something u won't even have chance to buy & hold at around $2 somethings......after yr sale.
N Kepland compare to others property stock, is too cheap already.

cyclical counter at the beginning of a bubble.
how long will the bubble grow before bursting?
1-6 month or 7-12 month or 1-2 year ? or
can it be managed and allow to grow slowly, slowly and never burst?
some seems to believe it can.

DJ MARKET TALK: UBS Upgrades Keppel Land To Buy; S$3.20 Target
24 July 2009 16:34
0833 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: UBS upgrades Keppel Land (K17.SG) to Buy from Neutral as says worst over for Singapore office sector, raises target price to S$3.20
from S$1.72. "We think capital values have found a floor and rents have hit a bottom"; adds, "we think Keppel Land could be a leveraged play on the Singapore office sector if capital values start to improve." Says property developer's 2Q09 results strong thanks to higher home sales in Singapore, China, Vietnam. Raises FY09 net asset value (NAV) forecast by 10% to factor in higher office capital values for Marina Bay Financial Centre and Ocean Financial Centre, pick up in China, Vietnam home sales, higher market price for K-REIT Asia (K71U.SG). Says new price target set at 1.1x NAV vs previous 50% discount to reflect improving outlook. Shares +3.1% at S$2.69. (KIG)
This "yellow stock" is still at the top 30 volume list and is up by another 6 cents this morning.
The point to note for those takng long position is that Keppel has yet to launch any residential projects this year, unlike other developers which have launched projects in recent months to capitalise on the new-found optimism. Keppel will only be launching their luxury projects Madison Residences in Bukit Timah and The Promont at Cairnhill Circle in the next two months. The Promont is due for completion this year. And then there is this hopefully gold mine Marina Bay Suites, and China, and ............... surely "qian tu wu liang" for quite awhile.
agree with you solar2008.
with this good news and Keppeland is cheaper as compare to buy capitaland. I believe this counter will reach $3 by end this year. Cheers to all traders who is holding this burger..
happy trading...today will be another cheong day..............

Kepland starts to expand its investment in china to complete against capitaland and yanlong. Its previous porfolio was mainly on commerical in Singapore that badly its stock price as compared to capitalland and yanlong. Now with its diverse strategy , am more confidence to see this guy flies when property market on the peak again. |

DMG maintains ‘buy’ on Keppel Land
KepLand’s
2Q09 PATMI rose 10.4% YoY, helped by strong residential sales. While
1H09 PATMI of S$95.1m accounted for 53.0% of consensus estimates (in
line), it formed 40.9% of DMG’s FY09 projections. Nonetheless, we
expect 2H09 to account for a higher proportion of FY09F earnings, on
the back of recovering property sectors in Singapore and China.
Looking
ahead, we expect land acquisitions in Singapore, while its good blend
of township and mid-high projects in China should ensure steady
profits. Recent rights issue has improved its net gearing to 0.23x,
making it the best-capitalized blue-chip developer. We maintain our BUY
rating on KepLand with a target price of S$2.98, pegged at parity to base case end-FY10 RNAV.

i think kepland is just high beta stock, dun think it is high risk.
in the past years, kepland was always doing follow up tracking of capitaland price, till last round, it surpassed capitaland for a while.
