Strait Times's today article on affordability of a home on pg A40 mentioned that 1 major developer uses a simple formula to price its mass market projects. It takes the average resale of HDB flats in the area and doubles it. So, if neighbouring 5-rm flat are going for $400k on the average, a similar-sized unit in the developer's new project would be priced at $800k.

Or is it that the increase of price of new private flat causes the increase in the price of resale private flats that in turn causes the HDB resale flat prices to increase in tandem. This is an egg and chicken issue.

In the forum pg of ST last week mentioned that spore needs 23000 new flats but HDB builds only 9000 flats. So pity those newly wed couples have to buy HDB resale flats (30k or 40K grant indirectly ended in the seller's pocket). Assuming the top 20% buy private flats, so HDB should build 80% of 23000 i.e 18400 flats. So why is HDB building only half of the required flats ?

Buyer " How much is yr owner will let go of the 4A flat ?"

Housing Agent " $40k cov"

Buyer "Wah so high! Mah Bow Tan said 1/3 selling below or at valuation."

HA : "Go and ask Mah Bow Tan to sell it to you."

Buyer "Hmmmm"

HA : "his data is out of date, may be from april to Jun, let him see jul to sept, we are like thermometer, very sensitive to price changes, much faster than his dept."

Is this woman going to get 'bonus merit points' from LTA in recognition of her 'good' attitude?

Is HDB/URA able to fine her for this act with the photo evidence?

I wonder of this kind of thing is within the definition of driving offences (including parking)? Or is this a case of 'live and let live'?

What if such offences (as opposed to a mere behavioral quirk) were to brushed off lightly by more people thereby resulting its rampant practice at a later stage ?... Smiley

Lost another life, under d sun.

A taxi driver burnt to death in his LNG driven taxi, in Selangor, Msia. Then he was sleeping in his veh at his covered carpark, after a hard-day work.

Last yr, wide discussion in d forum on how safe is d LNG being installed in d veh. And generally, most of us perceived that safety is not an issue of being operating d LNG as source of energy in d veh.

Strange, how d explosion occured? There is no diff if idling d veh or moving d veh ard to fetch passengers? Any fowl play, as news indicated that, that nite wife went other state for wedding dinner?

Wild guess, AK got d feeling that it seems to be a suicide case leh, hope not. Hv to wait for d intrinsic report to ascertain d incidence liao. God bless.

My family went to Johor last week. On the way back to Singapore custom, there was a scanning station setup. My 2 children was picked for temperature testing and those people at the back slowed down their foot steps. Then when my children were cleared those people at the back give out a 'chey!'. These people really getting excited when they see something going to happen but they were disappointed. :P
