Dyna-Mac shares close 2.5 cents higher on SGX debut

DYNA-MAC shares yesterday rose five cents or 14 per cent in early trading on the Singapore Exchange from their initial public offer price of 35 cents.

The counter closed at 37.5 cents.

Dyna-Mac's IPO - backed by cornerstone investor Keppel Offshore & Marine - was subscribed about 1.1 times at the offering's close on Monday. The offer comprised 436 million shares and 30 million shares under an over-allotment option.

In total, 1,864 valid applications were received for the five million offer shares available to the public. The applications amounted to 57,805 million shares, with monies totalling about $20.2 million.

Keppel Offshore & Marine, through KS Investments Pte Ltd, had been allocated 250 million placement shares which accounted for 57.3 per cent of the invitation shares. This comes up to a 27.77 per cent stake in Dyna-Mac, for a total investment of $87.5 million.

Nelson Yeo, the managing director for Keppel Offshore & Marine's marine division, was appointed to Dyna-Mac's board as a non-executive director.

'Dyna-Mac's expertise and operations will complement Keppel's competencies and allow us to exert better control over the process of designing and fabricating oil and gas production modules,' said Mr Yeo.

Dyna-Mac's debut performance on the exchange was deemed 'pretty good' by CIMB's Jonathan Ng in a research note yesterday, given the weakness in the market.

'Dyna-Mac appears expensive on a historical valuation basis. Its latest order book outstanding stands at $138 million, substantially lower than its FY2010 revenues, according to disclosures from its prospectus,' the report said.

'Existing order book will be recognised as revenues in FY2011. Though it might be possible for Dyna-Mac to boost their outstanding order book on strong floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) demand, maybe it's time to take some profits off the table first, given the capriciousness of the stock markets in recent days.'

March 2 (Reuters)--SE Asia Stocks-Mkts fall as oil price woes hit confidence, geopolitical risks a worry

* The drop in stocks was led by a 1.3 percent loss in Singapore
Southeast Asian stocks fell on Wednesday in broad-based selling as escalating geopolitical risks in the Middle East made emerging market investors wary of the impact of oil-driven inflation on the global economic recovery.
Oil rose towards a 2-1/2-year high and stocks around Asia fell as investors shunned risky assets on concern that the unrest in Libya would spread through the Middle East and disrupt fuel supplies.

Teeth53 thot--This ship may worth something more then it offer price os 0.35c, a short to mid term play.

Thing worth to note--Dyna-Mac play on it first day trading listed in SGX-Exchange is a strong indication of what  is to  be expected by big players interest, whether is vested or not,  it give a  good start to players big or small  stake holders in this local Industries startup on been listed in SGX-Exchange.

Keppel buys 28% stake in Dyna-Mac By Ryanh Huang | Posted: 02 March 2011 1947 hrs SINGAPORE: Keppel Offshore & Marine has bought a 28 per cent stake in topside module fabricator Dyna-Mac for S$87.5 million. This was through an equity placement following Dyna-Mac's listing on the Singapore Exchange, and works out to 35 cents per share. The cash consideration will be funded through internally generated funds. The purchase of the stake is to promote collaboration between Keppel Shipyard and Dyna-Mac. Dyna-mac specialises in providing engineering, procurement and construction services to the offshore and oil and gas. With the acquisition, Dyna-mac becomes an associated company of Keppel Corp. The deal is not expected to have material impact on the net tangible assets or earnings per share of Keppel Corp for the current financial year.

Dyna-Mac: Ratios are based on IPO Offer Price of 35cts...

Year-end of co is in May. 6M2011 results (HY2011) on 30 Nov 2010 posted a decline of 48.9%yoy with $83.7m rev and net profit of $10.1m -32.1%yoy. Total order book is at $138.0m, substantially lower compared to rev in FY2010. Post-IPO EPS of 1.12c, annualized translates to 15.6x P/E and on FY2010 earnings, EPS at approx 12.4x. Post-IPO NTA of 11.33c per share will result in a P/B of 3.09x…

Valuations are not particularly attractive. Furthermore, co has had net negative working capital in both HY2011 and FY2010 due to increased investments in expansion of yard facilities and capacities…

Co is mainly in the EPC business to the offshore oil and gas and marine sector. The business involves EPC of topside modules, detailed engineering and fabrication for semi-subs and sub-sea products such as buoys. Other fabrication parts include steel and mechanical structures, process piping and tanks...

Co’s module segment was approx 98.0% of rev in HY2011 but other ad hoc projects segment may boost rev which made up 48.8% of rev in 08. Grp has 2 major customers SBM and Modec which contributed 91.9% of rev in FY2010 and 86.7% (Modec 59.7% and SBM 27.0%) in HY2011. Both customers are big offshore names, Modec is the Japanese co Mitsui Ocean Dev & Engrg listed in Tokyo and SBM is a Dutch-based offshore co listed in Amsterdam…

Pros are mainly due to interest of cornerstone investor Keppel Shipyard, however valuations at 15.6x P/E amd 3.09x P/B appear to be higher than other EPC players and half yr results are relatively weak. Closest peer would be Technics O& G also in the module business at 8.06x P/E, other O& M support plays CH offshore at 7.61x P/E and MTQ at 7.57x.

there is also a research note on Dyna-mac by KEResearch, dtd 23rd of Feb.

i'm BEARISH for DYNA MAC, nothings good about it, and all the bad ones.

Factors to note:

*keppel corp may dispose the shares if dyna mac cannot meet their investment objective (profit).

*dyna mac  profit earning might be lower since keppel corp is their biggest share holder.

*international oil players are not many, and commodities price hikes  might  offset speculating raise in crude oil price. hedging of raw material price  will affect their bid offering capability, or through investment risks...

*shareholder book of keppel corp will reflect dyna mac as an investment segment similiar to sembmar (cosco corp), thus would result in write off if fails to perform.

*Dyna mac registered as shipbuilder, but most  clients were from keppel corp and rival sembmarine. technology and skilled abilities may not match the later.

* little fish wants to survive in the choppy and deep ocean, the journey would  not be that optimistic.

* perhaps can consider for a punt becos of my long time fav (comm) CRUDE oil. Smiley

my view...
