Nov 30, 2010 – As Master Andy Goh had predicted, global economic recovery within the US Wall Street market and other major stock exchanges is set, although the pace is slower than anticipated. The US dollar will continue its downward trend leading to an inevitable currency war. Of late, discourses on foreign exchange rates have become quite contentious. Countries across the globe have taken various drastic measures, in pursuit of economic recovery. China, in particular, has been held responsible for triggering artificial depreciation of exchange rates among major economies. It is argued that Chinese exporters get undue advantage because of the artificially undervalued or cheap yuan.
Although the new economic policies embarked by Obama’s administration team will benefit the debt stricken state to narrow the trade deficit, it will undoubtedly bring adverse effects to other nations.
Let us analyse how will US benefit from the implementation of new policies:
1. A weakened US dollar enables the state which is struggling to improve its less-than-spectacular economic performance to compete more effectively through cheapening of its exports.
2. The US can increase its market share as a tourist destination with a lower valued US dollar. A lower US dollar translates into lower cost for travelers, and that attracts travelers who were previously discouraged by the high cost. Tourism business can be a great economic boon as influx of tourists drives sales and creates job opportunities.
3. The aviation industry will be able to reap the benefits of the increased tourism activities with higher volume of international travelers.
4. China and Japan, two of the largest holders of US Treasury Bills, will have nothing to gain from the weaker US dollar.
5. Investors worldwide will be attracted to invest in the US due to the lower US dollar.
6. Hence, we see that the 'quantitative easing' policy adopted by Obama’s administration to bolster its economy can be beneficial to the US in the above mentioned ways.
The ultimate objective of administering such a plan will be to regain confidence and trust that the US citizens once had in Obama’s administration. This will not only help Obama consolidate his power within US but also retaliate criticisms that the government is lacking in its efforts to rebuild the fallen US economy. Recent polls have shown a large dip in support of Obama’s administration in response to slow US economy pick up. However, as US allows its dollar to weaken against other currencies, protectionism is unavoidable as economies are pressured by domestic businesses to protect national trade. The most critical time will come when US announces that it will raise the interest rate. The higher interest rate will most definitely trigger a ‘domino-effect’
From 2008 till today, real estate prices within the Southeast Asian countries have been spiraling upwards. The rocket-high prices are in fact indirectly caused by the buy-in from market investors who have traded US dollar for other Southeast Asian currencies.
Master Andy Goh predicts that from the second half of 2011, the inflation of property prices will cease due to the upwards adjustments of interest rate by the US Federal Reserve. This is especially for the Southeast Asian countries, such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Even today, governments across the globe are still trying to prevent the formation of the property market bubble.

Raymond Lo on year of Rabbit 2011 " A bit long la, got time then write hor" The Chinese calendar, commonly known as the Farmers’ Calendar, or the Hsia Calendar, is a fascinatingly accurate system, which not only records the passage of time, but is also a tool for fortune-telling. The famous traditional fortune-telling system – The Four Pillars of Destiny – is exactly referring to reading a person’s destiny from his birth data as presented in the Hsia calendar format. The unique feature of such calendar is that all information about time – year, month, day and hour are presented in terms of the five basic elements – metal, water, wood, fire and earth, which are believed to be the basic components of everything in the Universe. The relationship between the five elements accurately helps one predict what is to come by way of one’s fortunes and thus, one can by using this knowledge, multiply the good luck or minimize the bad luck in one’s life. THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT The Year of the Rabbit, 2011, in the Hsia calendar, is symbolized by two elements – with metal sitting on top of wood. According to the cycle of birth and destruction, which governs the inter-relationship between the elements, metal is the destroyer of wood and so they are on the destructive cycle and have conflict relationship. .This aspect is same as the year of Tiger in 2010 which is also metal over wood. This means that we have experienced the same year of yin metal over Rabbit in 1951. All these examples show the presence of serious clashes between yin metal and yin wood. Metal and wood element is also related to death by hanging, the reason being that metal is related to the head, the throat, and breathing organs whereas wood is a rope, so the clashes between wood and metal is also symbol of a rope rounding the head. An example is the fashion designer Alexander McQueen who killed himself by hanging on 11/2/2010 and this date also showed strong presence of metal and wood. In May 2010, there was one serious knife attack in a housing estate in Hong Kong and also a few knife attack cases at some Chinese schools threatening the lives of young students. The idea is that airline business is in the category of fire element, so when fire element is very weak or absent, there could be problem to airline business. 2010 is year of metal over wood, there is only small hidden fire inside the wood. In 2011, the feng shui flying star number 7, symbolize metal element and breathing organ, young girls, and the mouth, is in the centre. This centre number often reflects the focus of events prevailing in the year. Take for example, in 2010, when the star number 8 is in the centre, it symbolizes earth element and children, I predicted problems with earthquake and misfortune involving children. This had been correct with many earthquake disaster in 2010 and also children problem such as knife attack in some Chinese schools. So it will not be surprising that the 7 in the centre in 2011 may bring about more epidemic such as flu and also sex scandals, gossips, but is favorable for entertainment, communications and information technology. Regarding flying star feng shui, the current twenty year period from 2004 to 2024 is called “Age of 8” and this number 8 represents the Trigram of Mountain and it also is symbol of young children. Therefore since stepping into Age of 8 in 2004, it seems there are more disasters and misfortune affecting children. The latest incidents included the big earthquake in China in 2008 killing a lot of school kids, also the disaster of contaminated baby milk powder caused serious kidney stone problem to children.. This number 8, representing children is always present in the centre of the flying star chart in this 20 years from 2004 to 2024. So it is always important to pay attentions to children safety and well being in this period of 8. Regarding the economy, fire element is often the driving force behind the stock market. The five elements are also affecting peoples mood. In general fire is joy, water is fear, Earth is meditation, metal is sadness, and wood is anger. As such, fire year often generate optimism and drive up the stock market, such as 2006 and 2007. But in 2008 the water arrived and obviously people began to have fear about worsening of the USA sub-prime problem and recession. In the year 2009 there is pure earth on earth. . The earth element is not as fearful as water but is meditation. So it means people will be conservative and play safe. As such, it is a year of continue cooling down but gaining more stability. Fire is the symbol of the financial market and strong fire will stimulate optimism and speculative mentality. Without fire investors will play cool and conservative. In 2009, despite the absence of fire element in the year , the spring and summer months still showed strong wood and fire influences bringing upward surge in the stock and property market. But in 2010. the Tiger carries the seed of fire element and so there had been substantial economic recovery with stronger optimism starting from the spring season. There is a short setback with the economic crisis in Greece and Portugal in late spring but with summer fire coming in May, the stock market recovered with strong momentum. In 2011, the Rabbit is pure wood, it is not so strong in generating fire like the Tiger. So the economy will not be as fast moving as the Tiger but there is also strong summer fire supported by wood in 2011, so the stock market will continue to be vibrant and active most of the year. However, with strong water coming in 2012, one have to be cautioned against some setback in the autumn of 2011 commencing from around August and October as usual. . The metal element of 2011 is expected to bring prosperity to to fire industries and productivity to earth industries, this is because fire conquers metal, so the metal element is a symbol of money to the fire industry, which includes finance, entertainment and energy. Earth element produces metal, so metal is the output and productivity of Earth industry. As such metal year will bring activities to Earth industry which includes property, hotel, mining, insurance. The second best industries could be water, as water sees wood rabbit as creative element. Water industries are shipping, drinking, transport, communications. Metal industries are a little uncertain as metal sees metal year as robbing money and competition. Also metal needs fire to melt it into useful tools, so the absence of fire in 2011 also not so favorable to metal. Metal industries include banking, machinery, high tech, cars. So we can see recovery in the property and financial aspect in 2011. The industry which is not that favorable is wood element. This includes forestry, furniture, fashion, textile, paper, media, newspaper and magazines, and the recently coming up new industry of environmental protection is also falling into the category of wood. Wood industries is not so good in 2011 because there is no earth for it to conquer and no obvious fire for wood to produce. . The banking and financial tsunami that started in 2008 is mostly triggered by the absence of fire elements and the dominating water element which generated fear. Banking is Metal and it needs fire to melt it into useful tools. And finance and stock market are more related to fire which generates optimism. As such, the total absence of fire element in 2008 and 2009 is responsible for the slow down in economy and the banking crisis. However, the Tiger of 2010 is mother and seed of fire and it is also essential part of the fire penalty. Therefore we have seen strong recovery of the economy and steady improvement in optimism. This optimism will last into 2011 as the rabbit wood can still support fire but the power of Rabbit is much weaker than Tiger in generating fire. So there will be slowing down and some setback in financial sector towards autumn of 2011. With respect to the hi-tech industries sector, as represented by the NASDAQ. I have postulated that this industry is mainly represented by the metal element. As such, the prosperity of hi-tech industry requires the strong appearance of water and wood, which are symbols of productivity and money of the metal industry.
