Appreciate you views on this counter. Thank you.
Fortunately, CD's products were free from melamine. I think F & N's stake in the company does help. However, the dairy industry as a whole suffered a poor image and, as a result, the share prices of listed dairy companies were greatly depressed.
The tainted milk story always comes my mind...
Makes me think of all the poor children affected by something so hideous as that...

Good illiquid counter. So I keep buying.

Brief reports convey essential information and serve as a kind of notice for investors to refer to sgx website for details if they are interested.
Hope that the relevant parties will take note of this.
like u said, newspaper carries "brief reports"... don't think they say it is a comprehensive list. If in doubt, investor should always refer to sgx website, since all corporate action and announcement are listed.
I wouldn't be too bothered in this case. On the other hand, if it is the other way round, newspaper's brief report carry it and not on SGX website... something then is very wrong!

Not really, they did publish fy results & dividend announcements of many other S-chip companies. As CD is 29+ % owned by a F&N's subsidiary, any news about CD will be of interest not only to CD's shareholders but also F&N's.
I still don't understand why.
Is Singapore mass media biased about S-chips? Seldom a story of S-chip] being published in news paper and other mean of media, why?

Generally, local newspapers like The Straits Times and Zaobao, carry brief reports and/or dividend announcements of listed companies. CD released its FY'09 report and proposed a final div of 0.4 cts ps on 26/2/2010 in sgx website but not in the newspapers. I think shareholders who did not visit the website would have missed the info.
