Uni-Asia Finance Corporation announced that the Company has increased its shareholding in the capital of Matin Shipping Ltd from 20,000 shares (40%) to 24,500 shares (49%). The price of the acquisition is US$ 4,500 and will be internally funded by the Company and paid in cash in full upon completion.

Uni-Asia Finance Corporation updated that based on a preliminary assessment on the effects of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck Japan last Friday, all residents, guests and employees situated at the group’s hotel and residential properties are accounted for, with no reported injuries. The group properties were not structurally affected by the earthquake and none are located within the evacuation zones of the nuclear plants in Fukushima prefecture. In addition, none of the vessels managed by the group and/or in which the group has an interest was damaged or structurally affected and all the vessels remain operational.
