Sunpower Group wins $9.3m supply contract

Sunpower Group, the heat transfer technology specialist, says wholly-owned China subsidiary, Jiangsu Sunpower Technology Co., has won a RMB47.6 million ($9.3 million) contract to supply energy efficient core equipment to with Jiangsu Honggang Petroleum Co., a subsidiary of Shenghong Group, one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises with assets aggregating to RMB30 billion.

strong support 36.5c assist at 200ema

Sunpower Group posts 44% rise in 1Q net profit to $2.8m

Mainboard-listed Sunpower Group, the China-based heat transfer technology specialist, posted a 43.7% y-o-y increase in net profit attributable to shareholders to RMB14.6 million ($2.8 million) for the first three months ended 31 March 2011 (1QFY2011) on the back of 40.3% increase in revenue to RMB226.6 million. Sunpower says the double-digit growth is due to strong demand arising from the group’s heat exchangers and pressure vessels segment.

This one is overlooked by most as ppl concentrates on those china stock above 200m. This one has lots of potential together with its award of best product in 2007.

Currently trades at around 2006 forward P/E of 10x, possible 20% to 25% upside depending on results and rolling forward of P/Es to 2007. Management's execution track record is still questionable though, but industry prospects are bright especially with CEnersave getting more and more institutional interest, positive sentiment might spillover to this counter. [b]Technical Analysis[/b] Sunpower has broken out of 2 major downtrend lines, the first was broken in early Jan 06 (steeper dark red line) and the second was broken on 28 Mar 2006 but not convincingly as prices still capped by EMA 200 resistance (tested twice but fail to break it, in Feb 06, it was broken but failed to hold above it after 2 trading days). For now prices look like it is stuck in a trading range of 14 to 16.5 cents. ..........continued at my blog
