Saudi Arabia's rulers Vs Iran's. The two approaches this week - largesse versus rhetoric - captures the style and stakes for the region's heavyweight rivals as Iran hunts for gains and Saudi tries hard to stamp out any threats.
Throwing $36 billion into housing and other social assistance channels in attempts to quell rumblings of dissent.
Already, the region has been reshaped by the fall of decades-old regimes and growing pressures on others, including Moammar Gadhafi's 42-year rule in Libya.
But the ultimate questions for many are whether the pro-Western Saudi monarchy can ride out the unrest, and if Iran will successful...Iran's president offered more bombast as Tehran tries to project sympathy for protesters.

Abdullah ordered that 40 billion riyals, or about $10.7 billion, be injected into the country's development fund, Saudi television said.
That nearly doubles the original budget of 47 billion riyals. Other new measures include a 15 percent cost of living adjustment for government workers and a year of unemployment assistance for youth.
The announcements, which also included funding for literary clubs, students studying abroad and social security funds, come as many countries in the region are hit by popular protests over poverty, corruption and political repression.

by now, the market direction is very clear now
how low can it go, I can't tell, because I'm not a chartist
just feel that if we go in now, maybe catching the falling knife
probably a rough guide when the market indicates it has fallen enough is when total market volume falls to below 1 billion shares traded
all the money is now flowing to play the 'ang moh' markets, this is a zero sum game, what's good for them is bad for us here
if US shows some more good economic figures, money will for the time being remain at those 'ang moh' markets
Good Luck
