I think we should also avoid those that will be forced to delist by SGX. Recently we see Rotol, making a reasonable come back in the latest year but still asked to delist mainly due to low market capital. The next one is: JETS TECHNICS INTL HLDGS LTD
I don't think it stands a chance to stay listing as its market capital currently way below 40 million and it's still struggle to make a profit. Since it's NAV is barely above 0, I wonder how they'll make a cash offer.
Do your homework before considering this counter.

Contel.
Net liability value: 9.31 US cents as at 31/03/2010. Still struggling. Avoid unless you have very high risk appetite.
K GREEN TRUST.
Mosrt companies, even cash rich ones will have some borrowings. Management dos this for various reasons....such as maintaing a line of credit for short term requirement, maintain bank relationship, etc.
Perhaps a better way is to look at Cos with little or no gearing.....suggest this formula
Current Asset - Current Liabilities - Term loans is positive.....i.e >0
With this, there are many companies....Kepcorp, SembCorp, SembMar, Spore Tech Enggr, Achieva, Aztech, SMB, MIIF, EDMI....to name a few.
