A piece of good news at last! The SGX should break out about 60-70 points positive today at the open unless things change over the next half an hour. Cheers.

not sure whether stock can make people become rich or not. but i think business and property can make people become rich. so i am working towards these 2.. to me, stock is just my interest. never never really think to fa cai in stock market well, stock is just another form of gambling. 10 gambler, 9 loser. so...i dun think i belong to that 1 winner. hahahaha, rather go into a business which i am familiar in....

It's good to hear about your success in the equity market. Hope that you share and impart your knack for the market to those here esp newbies like me who is looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

It's a lot easier to become rich with the stock market than with business. I tried a couple of businesses in the past. All failed. Now, I'm building my wealth from the stock market and I'm happy doing this. Life as a businessman is not easy. Too much

Thru margin, contra or your money, just trade within your means. Easier said than done as most of us are rule by greed and fear in this market.

Margin trading is ok if you know how to time the market.
The problem is many newies don't know how to time the market.
By the time you know how to time the market, you would have already made enough money and don't need to use margin liao.
This is why many people who goes bankrupt with margin trading are newies.

Yup...
The reality is slowly but surely sinking in...
You know what's scary? The traditionally slow month of June is not even here yet and already the indices have retreated so much. Fundamentals of companies may have looked solid in April but the external environment, namely the failure of the EU govts to get their act together, have changed these company outlooks altogether.
I think the DOW 9000 support is beckoning and doommongers like Dr. Doom and Meredith Whitley are having their day in the sun. I personally don't see any upturn in market sentiment until the July earnings season when hopefully, hard data from balance sheets will prove these bears wrong. Cheers.
