Singapore, 28 August 2007 ? Fung Choi Media Group Limited (?Fung Choi Media? or the ?Group?), a major media and marketing group in the People?s Republic of China, today reported a 48% increase in net profit to a record HK$241.7 million, or 37.2 HK cents per share, for the financial year ended 30 June 2007. This was achieved on a 42% increase in revenue to HK$1,193.6 million.
The strong performance is attributed to Fung Choi Media?s continuous effort to innovate and provide creative solutions and quality products to its customers, as well as a growing popularity and demand for its products and services from existing and new customers across its business segments.
Ms Lai Yuen Ling, President and Executive Director of Fung Choi Media said, ?I am very pleased with what the Group has accomplished throughout the year. Our performance in 2007 demonstrates our commitment towards positioning ourselves as an industry leader, and
establishing a strong foundation for growth and sustained profitability.?
Dividend
For FY2007, the Board of Directors has proposed a first and final cash dividend of HK5.0 cents per ordinary share. This represents a total payout of HK$36.3 million or 15% of net profit.
Future Plans and Outlook
Moving forward, Fung Choi Media will continue to cater to the increasingly savvy consumers in China by maintaining strong editorial content for its magazines, and introducing innovative commercial displays that capture their attention. The Group also plans to replicate more of its popular magazines to other regions in China as well as introduce new titles of special interest; with the objective of raising its advertising rates and advertisement-to-content.
Ms Lai added, ?With less than a year now to the Beijing Olympics, Fung Choi Media will stand to benefit from increased marketing and promotional activities by our customers and businesses in general.
