As far as I know now, PE of 14 to 28 is fair and feasible.

Chinese stocks aren't really appreciated here due to their poor corporate governance and lack of local workers and consumers to appreciate their services. As such, generally fair valuation of a chinese stock should be around PE 7-10.

Yes, CD has waked up. Last traded at 23 cts ps. A total of 1021 lots was done. This volume is the highest since 31/8/09. What does it imply?

It looks like CD has waked up again, with relatively high volume traded: 357 lots & closed at 20.5 cts.

In terms of corporate governance, I think China Dairy is different from most of its peers, because F&N Dairy Investment Pte Ltd holds 29+ % of its shares. F&N's representation in CD's Board of Directors should have strengthen its management. This was reflected in last year's melamine incidence where dairy products of CD were declared free from melamine by Chinese Authorities.

Despite good profit and potential growth, the share price appears to be stagnated. What is your view on the counter?

Q3 result is better than what I had expected. Revenue for 9 mths FY09 = $272.547 million (an increase of 34.8% vs the same period last year). EPS = 0.89 cts for Q3 & 2.14 cts for 9 mths. If Q4 EPS = Q3 EPS, FY09 EPS will be 3.03 cts (2.14 + 0.89). Potential PE = 6.6 based on its closing price of 20 cts per share.

Q3 results shall be out in the 2nd week of Nov 09. H1 09 EPS = 1.25cts. If its momentum of improvement continues, 9 months' EPS shall be around  2 cts and FY's EPS shall be more than 2.5 cts. Therefore, the potential PE ratio shall be less than 8 based on its closing price of 20 cts per share.

China Dairy started to move again after consolidation. It closed at 25 cts per share today, up 2 cts, with 2673 lots traded.   Comments from chartists and fundamentalists will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, lawcheemeng

China Dairy's H1 report is very well summarised in ST (18/8/09 page B17). I agree with you that my earlier assumption was rather conservative.

Thanks

In order to cope with the increasing demand growth, CD has acquired the remaining 55% of PaediaNutrition. This will likely improve CD's turnover and profit in H2 '09. Assuming that its EPS in H2 '09 will increase 30% vis-a-vis its H1's. Its FY '09's EPS will be 1.25 + 1.25 x 1.3 = 2.88. At 17 cts per share, the potential PE ratio will be 5.9 (17/2.88).

Any comment?
