For US shares, the statement is almost very accurate up to the date of the statement from the brokerage firms. Do note that some brokers don't really care about sending you a statement of your US Stocks holdings. Don't know why, maybe.. hope that you forgot about it. ); Jokes aside, before starting to sell, double check with the brokerage which sends the statement. Sometimes it might be a mistake or some other reasons. For Singapore stocks, if you use CPF money, the ownership is still the CPF which acts as a "custodian" (sh..who wants a custodian to your $$ hah?) to your money. Therefore you check with the CPF. But if you use cash, make sure that you check regularly with the CDP acct online and see if there is any mistake so that you can correct it on time. |

Someone needs help too - Friend has some US share (2 or 3 companies) and can he rely on the monthly statement's balance to sell his share? Shares were bought many many years ago and still receiving statements. First, he must open us trading a/c. Can a broker help with this kind of checking of balance etc or help consolidate them? Tks |

yes..similar to using SRS....so dont worry..if u are still getting notices from DBS abt your dividends means you still hv the stock in their account. U can also check thru your CPF a/c.

Don't worry, yr CDP a/c will not be credited when bought share under cpfis. It's under your CPFIS bank agent.

Ha ha, comrade, Siberia liao. Nonetheless, check your CPF acc on Singpass, whether any amount deducted for stock? If not, dun bother loh. If yes, check with DBS help desk. BTW, any problem encountered, always ask in shortest time, not wah, yrs later. Esp if u got health problem, consult nearest doc soonest possible, be animal doc, also can. Good health.

Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem right now.....i have bought 2 lots of OCBC share in Dec 2008 using CPF. Recently i was checking on CDP account and i realise that the shares are not in my account. I have not loaned it before and when i crossed check against my CPF account, the amount has been deducted. The bank that is dealing with CPF investment is DBS and quarterly i do recieve letters from DBS indicating if i want scrip dividends or cash..... So the question is where did my stock gone to?? Please help. |
