the market is very much a liquidity play. There is so much liquidity in the market and investor sentiment towards the local market remains high confidence level, correction possible but don't expect big downturn in the short term |

Somehow I have the feeling that at least some of the things that were reported in Straits Times about the parliament were to cool off the "Wee Shu Min" episode. |

After yesterday parliament opening and strong PMI data, my take is STI will be GREEN today, despite a FLAT US market last nite .... to close above 2740! If you re-interpret the lower factory activities reported in US this week, it should spell good news to Asia ironically. Cos it could also mean that imports into US are strong and 'killing' US-made products?! Just a thought .... |

though there are gaps here and there to fill up, but generally overall sentiment looks good. Any down turn correction is healthy and will bring market to new high until strong resistance came, then bye bye to the bull and comes the bear. Similarily, when bear rules the market, any up turn correction will bring market to new low until new support found. |

Bros, it seem there is lots of ppl here optismistic abt the market here. which i believe is due to the "year end rally". Sorry that iam that only bearish one here (since 20th oct). and i hope bros dun mind i speak what i see from the chart. Wonder if anyone benefitted from my bearish comments? : ) |

You are right, only blue chips can push move the STI. But unless you are trading the index, the average man in the street cares more on whether the counters he has in hand are up or down. I think the market will move in a range in the short term. |

Hi, from my opinion small cap & IPO usually can't really push the STI index. only heavy weight blue chip will move up STI and motivate the brad band rally. |

In the coming few weeks, many companies will be delivering their quarterly results. Smart and nimble traders may benefit from price or volume movement before and after the announcement. For instance, China Hongxin is expected to report today and Pine Agritech on Monday. Sometimes, it is whether one company is making or losing money. Rather it is more of expectation. Things to watch is whether the results are better or worse than expected and what management has to say on the future. So it pays if study the analysts reports, whether you like or agree with them or not. Also, you may notice that there are many IPO coming up. Those involved will try within their means to keep the market not looking too bad. Plus year end is approaching. Talks of January effect will add some hope to the market. Just some thought. |

consolidation should be good for market to inch up further, strong counter will be stronger, weak counter will continue to stay weak or remain no interest to invester. |

At any moment in time, nobody can say with certainty whether the market is at a 'late stage' or at its 'peak' or otherwise. Unless one can see tomorrow (read the future), one is really only expressing an expectation based on sentiment. If one can really tell what stage the market is in at any given moment, then there would be no more speculation in the world. In the context of a bull market, therefore, 'bargain hunting' is an appropriate term to use, since if a stock is really rising, then it can be said to be cheap relative to its future price. Just something to ponder about. :) |

Before lunch theme, slow steady decline, STI testing intraday psychological resistance at 2700. After lunch, ....hmm.....don;t puke uh. will start to get hardcore. |
