Hostage taking also occurs in financial markets; Mark Haynes(CNBC-Aug 13th) ; He said (something like) they hold the average investor hostage like human shields.If the Fed does not bail us out we will bring the markets and the average investor down with us. |

Dont be surprise that Temasek is also looking at profit taking as well. Shares look deceptively cheap because of projected earnings for 2008. What may seem as profitable changes over night. When the US hits recession, credit crunch, consumers confidence drop....etc...... people tend not to spend. Let's wait for the job data, consumer's index to be out before 18/9. Valuation is overly optimistic as of now. happy trading. |

If you buy on dips at turning points you will be taken to the cleaners unless your time horizon is in years( Buffet says he can survive even if the stock market closes for 3 long years but can you.? Of cuz I can cuz I do not trade for a living. I have a full time job. Stocks is only a complement to my monthly income.And that is why I continue to buy on dips as my capital is clearly demarcated for stocks, FD, insurance, living expenses, emergency cash. |

Stock market is a pool of market sentiment, when everyone is bullish, any news can be good news. When the confidence level dips, panic selling mode occurs and any news are bad news. Fundamental analysis does not seem to be applicable in current market condition when most people are fearful, unless you are a very long term investor. US is a problematic market ridden with debts, rising or cutting interest rates are both detrimental to its economy in the long run. To solve its current credit crunch problem, it seems like the only thing they can do is print more money, which will ultimately devalue the purchasing power of its currency. The worst thing is that Asian markets, which in my humble opinion is relatively healthy is actually affected so much by it. Why should Asians pay for the mistakes of US mismanagement, no doubt it has the biggest GDP of more than 13 trillion in 2006. We should not forget the amount of debts it owes to achieve that. In fact, Singapore imports more from US than exporting to it. We are actually helping them more than they help us economically. If this continues, the so called 10 year cycle will materialise again. |

Even the federal reserve cannot support a bear market, Fund managers also use astrology, phases of the moon, eclipse of the sun and moon and technical charts and feng shui and so we follow them.They are superstitious like all of us as no one knows the future Dow has support at 13000, 12800 and if that breaks all hell will break loose -chart wise. The stock market is a game of deception and the jewish bankers make fools of us including Temasek(long term investment)Their loss in Barclay's bank in 1 month is in hundreds of thousands of sterling pounds-shin corp not counted China (Chinese jews) have lived and died by deception for thousands of years and have cleverly hidden behind the bamboo curtain.Without chinese money hang seng would have also dropped drastically. The law of the jungle (Darwinism) rules in the financial markets(MOTHER OF ALL CASINOS) New moon posts only at turning points as a steadily rising market only needs buying on dips and hold.Do not mistake LUCK for SKILL. Despite the gloomy market condition, certain stocks are well supported at certain price. It means BB are supporting it and the only reason they do is becuz they believe at that price level, the stock is already very under-valued. Trying to queue buy below the supported price is seldom successful. We even read news of companies taking this opportunity to do share buy-back. In a way I tink the company is feeling the market is severely discounting the price of their stock. By buying back at a discounted price, they prop the price up hopefully. All such actions to me means the economy is healthy for those stocks. They are making monies. The fact that is plain for all to see is emotion and sentiment is getting the better of most retail investors and foreign funds pulling out leaving a large void behind. It doesn't help either where shortists also take this chance to short it down further creating the red color we see every few days. | ||||||||

well, I think its not the end yet. News leaked on Fed meeting was talking about inflation concern more than current market concern. Once Friday report is out, it will appear clear that Fed has no intention to cut Fed rate, which will trigger another sell down from anticipation to disappointment. |

STI's fall today was mainly due to blue chips' decline. This time round, "fear" factor is not as strong as the last one because the holding of most counters were acquired during the last great fall. Panic selling during the last round has phased out most speculators, so now mostly eagles. Another class of vultures are waiting on the sideline to come in. If you look at the range in the price for today, most prices have picked up at this current time. No much sweet cherries to pick if you were weighing between price and risk earlier this morning.....ie sweet and good cherries were on sale only for a few minutes, and it's all sold out! | ||||||||
