While it is true that global enviroment issues are a concern,people in Greenland has suddenly see a huge growth in their economy. The ice which one stops them from having any vegetation is now melting and they can now grow lettuce etc...The population has treble etc... More houses are build. also,thye discover that they have like 20 billion dollars worth of minerals underground....ready to be mine. So global warming may be bad for some bt good for greenland. |

I just think two potential problems the world might face in future are energy and food.Thus I feel commodity theme is going through a correction and long term secular uptrend in commodity prices remains intact. Below are some points from the Chairman, Shell Companies in Singapore. Business Times 13 Septemebr, 2008 - No Dodging This Challenge The energy problem won't solve itself and some hard facts show that we must act early. World population more than doubled since 1950 and is set to increase by 40% by 2050. This will cause increasing tensions in the global energy system. We should not underestimate the scale of this rise in demand. Countries such as India and China are entering their most energy-intensive phase of development as hey industralise, build infrastructure and increase the use of transportation. Although rising prices will moderae demand and stimulate efficiency measures, this correcion may not offset demands tensions completely. On the supply side to 2015, growth in the production of easily accesible oil and gas will not match the projected rate of demand growth. Meanwhile, alternative energy sources such as biofuels may become a more significant part of the energy mix. New forms of energy will compete to become more efficient in terms of technology and scale. There will be winners and losers among these new ventures. What is also very clear is that no one type of new energy will be sifficient to supplement fossil fuels, if we are to meet demand |

If that's the case, I would rather suggest Temasek to buy Bear Stern (no chance now) or Lehman Brother.. as they love to mention 15-20 years long term, perhaps, that can really suit their appetite.. I just cannot imagine if Merrill Lynch is the next target after Lehman... It is really a lucky escape that I didn't buy in ML at price of USD 29... phiew ! by looking at the current situation, I think <$10 is highly possible..

I'm not a Temasek supporter but think about this - despite having suffered losses from their stakes in ML and UBS, in the long term, it may have been an excellent choice to buy into these 2 companies. It is only during this global financial crisis that a golden opportunity can arise for Temasek to buy into these large financial monsters. This will probably never happen again.

Lehman....coming ..Akan datang...going very cheap...CHEAP SALES liao. at least Temasek Holding is not going in...healing our concern and voices and taking very notes. Lehman Bro...lowest $3.88, ML should be going $7.88, just sharing my tot, not at $3/-
