STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

Unbelievable....STI dropped to 2,033 (-143pts). Might have more to come tomorrow as DOW FUTURES is now in RED 200pts |

This whole crisis is getting really bad man... last time my parents always say play stock.. dun invest.. conservative isnt too bad also.. Even those who didnt directly play stocks, im very sure they get burn also due to investing in unit trust via cpf, when during boom, government also encourage ppl to invest.. A look at the chart, currently STI n HSI drop till a level without any strong support. Prepare for the worst case scenario: STI at 1300-1400 HSI at below 9000-10000 |

well...in which this scenario no matter how bad it is...dun think the gov will do so... we are now trading based on what we see on US Futures and HSI ...STI just follow suit in directions

Quite a few days ago, I remember someone saying that this period with crisis are happening everywhere, the best thing to do is to snap up the Bluechips...well, I have to reiterate that in this sentiment, it's best to go CASH and put some fund into defensive PENNIES. As they are small in size, they will be be much affected by the mortgage woes, credit crunch, etc. See for yourself how the blues got hammered today...no eye see! But look at some of the pennies, well, they are down but not as much as the blues like SGX, KeppelCorp, CityDev, SembMarine, all got slashed more then 10%...yes no typo error, TEN PERCENT! |

In your opinion, with $700B is enuf to turn the mkt around? I think it requires a few more of the $700B in US alone...worldwide like Europe and Asia require to inject new fund into the mkt to stablise situation and regain investors confidence. I am hoping to see China getting involve with their yuan!

I said 1600 sometime back...and i still see 1600..at worst 1200!!!somebody post capitaland at 1.0.. this is possible..way back when i bought 1.7... when we will at 2.6..somebody told me off..told me to wait long long for 2 below and ..well i wait long and got it.. You wait long..be patiencce.. I think fed will cut rate..and gold and silver will soar. I think this is confidence crises, fundamental wise it is not that bad, but ppl drive the market , so it is the same ppl who will ruin the market.. Buy gold and silver now..DYODD...vest at 780..silver 10.61.. |

seems like most major indices like Dow, Nikkei, S&P, Nasdaq etc has retreated to 4-5yrs low.. if STI were to retreat to 5yrs low, we can expect STI to go as low as 1500-1600pts.. Economy is not turning any better after the 700b bailout and crying wall street babies are asking for 100bsp rate cut.. which i deems to have minimal positive impact to current economy... and in my opinion, i dun think benanke will wan to do anything to the fed rate as it might poise another major problem... and it wil be too much for them to handle. |

yesterday the aussie govt rate cut and the ASX was +50 over points.. not many of their citizens expected the percentage of rate cut to be that high.. now the ASX - 200 over points.. their rate cut was a bold move.. but now it is turning out to be a drastic one.. instead of boosting the market, it plunged even more.. this is scary..
