If one draws the trend line, one may be able to roughly see where STI will bottom out. If your guess is STI is going to fall much further, why average down all the way, from a few months ago when fund managers were advising to buy, to a maybe expected STI of 1600 to 1800? |

I thought Dow will do a "technical rebound" tonight due to the lifting of short selling (reverse psychology effect) but seeing Dow in the red nw, the market always outsmart me. Nothing had changed yet. A lot of forumeers had come out and gave warnings like singaporegal and I really have to respect them due to their "skills" and time. I have nothing to "offer" as I also lost a lot. But do be careful of the ultra long margin lists lurking in all those broking houses and we still in a bear territory. Market no goes up or down in a straight line. |

US set to lift short-selling ban
WASHINGTON - The US Securities and Exchange Commission said on Friday it would lift its temporary order banning short selling of financial shares next Thursday. The next thursday from last week is tomorrow.... OK ? But not too sure if they will do so or not....

I cannot help but to say this: The title of this thread seems to be inappropriate now. STI will cross 3000 again some time in the future. But the current long term investors might not have the power to push it up to 3000 in the short term. The financial crisis contagion is just too over-powering. |

So tonight no show? I am on leave tomorrow, I can stay late tonight to watch the "socer" match. Anyway, tonight with or without shorting will see DOW going down! Hopefully not too much below. Last week failed bailout sent DOW -777pts. Then a few nights ago, DOW dropped -800pts at one time. Hope tonight and tomorrow night will not break these records. I am keeping tab here!
