Still recall this. Coming Monday STI sign of easing, (is due for correction) look like Tuesday may continue from Monday slide, may ease a little again as this week is rich for correction and to take profit. trade with care. Yahh... |

I tend to agree with cashiertan's post. Note that STI chart clearly shows us a bearish evening star formation today. And pls rem that cashiertan said "66%" not 100%, so that's definitely not trying to predict the future etc. So there's nothing wrong nor SCARY about what he said ! The only positive thingy at this pt of time is that DOw is still strong... |

Corrected : ok ok. i will be alittle bit less scary to the newbies. expect the worst so nothing can scared u. newbies got to progress from and learn to expect the worst. u see clearer this way. as i type this post, the DOW broke back into green.. 7days of straight green if today close positive.. Sign of hope for STI tomolo? Btw, what i said is predicting the future. just like what TA is suppose to do. to predict the future movement by using past trends. what i said is in the TA. STI got 66% chance to close lower due to the fact it closed at its lowest point. and lowest point usually will end up will lower close the next day as the bear has the momentum and strength to carry on into the 2nd day and so on.. this is pretty basic TA knowledge leh leh.. i am surprise such basic TA knowledge is scary to u all.. Isit i expect too much from the forumers here? |

Cashiertan, I tends to agree with Novacaine that those words you used may really give noobs like me the very wrong impression. It's as if you know and can predict what is going to happen. The volume today is just above 1 billion. There were 124 counters advancing against 271 counters declining. Seems like a general sell down today. But I think its just a correction. If its a major panic, I would expect the volume to be double. I think the STI will recover tommorow a little. |

what bouyed the mkt in the short 2.5mths seem to be really influenced by US mkt and also last qtr results. there were some strong performances out there. but then again, the uptrend was there before the qtr results were out. the institutional players almost already knew the results, Singtel - being one of the pillar of STI, definitely contributed to this uptrend - but what has fundamentally changed? not much, still poor performance from optus, but a whole lot of spec - payTV, CommanderComms. cashiertan, what are you guessing to have fundamentally changed? is not the question of rise of 322pts in 2.5mths? what "falling like waterfall". please read the post properly before replying. |

well, guess so, thats why it is falling like a waterfall? The europe market is not falling as much as asia market, in fact the european market is recovering from the early dip. Futures are pointing down and it adds pressure to sel for dow and nasdaq later but dun think DOw will dip as much as STI or Nikkei tonite. |

The STI was 2491 on 1/9/06 and it hit an all time high of 2813 on 17/11/06 - an increase of 322 points in matter of 2.5 months. Wat happened between then and now ? Has there really been a fundamental change? Just think about it. |

I was just giving my point of view..the other side of the coin if you may say..i am not saying i am an expert..in fact i am a nobody but i believe in riding the market if you believe in it rather than pull the plug on the slightest of jitters..if the market crash so be it..i would just take it as a lesson learnt than cry over it..i have had my fair share of losses..but what i am trying to say is pls do not say things like as if you know for sure they will happen..nothing is for sure..thats all.. Everyone has a right to say their views and i do respect yours..its just the way u said it that is a bit not right..Ur words are rather strong and its very biased..Nobody can predict the future but u say it like you know for sure..thats not good..thats all i want to say.. And of coz ppl can decide for themselves wats good for them but there are the exceptional fews who just believe wholesale.. And good luck to your timing then..I personally dont believe that it is time to bail out yet..we shall see who is right come end december..looking forward to that.. Btw i do not want to get engaged in a war of words..rather childish i believe..dats y i normally keep my views to myself..take every word with a pinch of salt k..all the best..let the market decide..adios.. |

FYI, try telling a TA or chartist not to time the market... lolz well i respect ur style of trading which u used, but do respect and note that there are "timers" and some chartist here who does "time" their entry and exit. Good Luck to your position anyway... |

Nope. mr nice guy. And i must add that it is not healthy to try time the market..ie jump in and out..i am sure u noe dat..or do u? wen u invest in stocks u invest for the long term ie 5 years dats wats recommended..unless ur a contraian or maybe i suspect a shortist? watever it is juz trade with care..and dun say unsubstantiated sentences.. |

With so many merger and aquisition in the west today yet the STI correct so much. i am also caught very surprised by the intensity of today correction. Even though i have been warning of correction for STI, i never expect such a big dip. now sti is resting on the 7 days SMA. so far most of the correction stops at 14 days support. If STI close below 2750 tomolo, there is very high chance of further dip to 2500.. take note guys. |

Hmm. i am not soothsayer. I guess u must be caught longing the market...in fact what u said dun make sense. if i tell them the bad news now, they would panick less as they have more time to react, thus making less mistakes. If the STI does correct even more tomolo, it will not be a surprise for them, if STI rebounce tomolo, it will be a good news for them. What i am telling is for their reference, especially those newer ones.. or is it better to tell them "good news" like the brokers while the market is dipping? correction is healthy i agree but how big correction is considered healthy? 1%, 2% or 10% and is it good for others (especially the nooies ) to be caught in correction while heavy in the Long? Think abt it. it is good to have contrarian to tell the facts and share the experience to balance up the bulls. |
