Hmm i dun think the market will recover so fast.. How about staying away from the market for the time being? Put your cash into safer places like FDs. Interest rates might be low, but at least its safe. and wait till next year before going long.. The Conference Board, a New York-based business research group, said Tuesday that its Consumer Confidence Index plummeted to 38 in October from an upwardly revised reading of 61.4 in September. Let's not be overly optimistic yet. I still would not go long on any counter because more volatilty is expected. Interest rate cuts by the Fed to 1% or below are expected. But remember that interest rate cuts only have a short term impact on the stock market. The broader economy is still suffering and will take a long time to recover - US consumer confidence has fallen again. Credit is still tight but starting to loosen up. Libor rate has only just started to drop. If you're still vested and looking for a way out, today may be a good day to sell into strength. |
