STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

168, AK cleared the tech nake short UOB 16.15 at 10.86, though seeing potential to go down further, as looking at the 3 lower Q buyers. However, yesterday waited both SIA n DBS to be pushed higher before closed, but those burger hilang leh. Till last 5 mins I still couldn't clear them. Today, bopian, cleared them with tuition fees loh, though will be collecting the div. Still keeping UOB n DBS one ea for next game loh.

Job cut are natural step for companies to take in time of criss. It is like cutting expenditure for household. Definite good to pick stock meaning they are taking steps to trim some fat accumulated during good times.

Haha! Chosen to dump my extra $(not much tho) into Capitaland & Kepland for long term holding. Will close my book for this year liao. Hope to pick up some more bargain 1H next year before recovery sit in....am i too optimistic? We shall see. Hehe! | ||||

Congrate and appreciate on the strategy. Keep it up as the current market trend is in favour of CFD trading, though with high risk. A big page talking about CFD n huge vol involved in Sep n Oct, esp on Indexes n Forex. Zaobaobusiness. Of course there is writeup on the topic, more elaborate ones, in webs.

been CFD shorting a few stocks like Indoagri,Kep Corp and my all time favourite put warrants... the trick to manage this bear is to make loads of $$$$ so that u can dump it into good blue chips and wait for them to explode in value when the onset of the bull market comes.. for those flamers of my infamous put warrants..wonder who's laughin now.. |

Yah, didn't see any knee jerking issue today. HSI still can't get over yesterday plunge, though SHI now didn't rock the boat. Since am, STI moving in tendum with HSI, thet are brother brother, chialat. Can't do much ah, today I think. |

Nothing 'unusual' going on. Merely consolidation. Looks like those buyers who went in on the day STI tested 1473 are still around. BUT, be careful if today's STI trade closes below 1670. Might indicate bailing out of those mkt supporters. Anyway, GM's fate is still in the balance. Obama says it needs support. Paulson says 700b should be reserved for banks. Go ahead and figure out why. |

AK agreed. 168 observation n practices are valid, for most of the trading days. However, today, esp pm, SHI shed that created opportunity for players to manupulate their strategies. DBS n SIA XD 2morrow, but kena wacked. UOB, for nothing preclosed period kena 10 bits(20cts) pulled down, despite maintaining green since morning. SGX, lost almost 21 cts earlier, but preclosed also kena pulled up, n slided 7 cts only. Really, didn't match with other bloody counters ie KepCorp, Venture, F&N etc. Yesterday it declined 12cts leh. Today SGX vol, 1.001b, indeed gave a good ground for players to push it up for room for playing next day. Hence, if tonite DJ plunges further, those kena one will be first one to be slashed further. Who will buy as most small retailers panic liao, BBs will come to the rescue loh. Above no call for anything, just AK view, as AK also predicted wrongly the STI trend today. 2morrow pay tuition fee loh.

Yah, today price collapse after lunch and reach bottom around 3+PM then pick up again around 4PM then south all the way. If you short, better cover at the first dip. Now wonder what happens if everyone think like dat. Then the short covering gets earlier and earlier? Playing the market is like trying to think against the flow. For example if I know people are going to recover at 4PM, I will recover at 330PM. But then what if they think I will recover at 330PM wont they then recover at 3PM? Then if I think they think I will recover at 330PM, and as a result they recover at 3PM, then I should recover at 230PM. Then if they think I think they think they will recover at 3PM, and as a result they think I will recover at 230PM, then they will recover at 2PM. Then if I think they think I think they think....

Overall, STI performance still not bad leh! HSI down 4.5% due to property woes and China market's influence which is down 6-7%. Dow's future heading south again ~109pts!! Hope for a better tomorrow loh! Heard some analyst says: "DJIA 8000 will be tested again & again, if it breaks eventually, no big deal cause alot of bad news already factor into the market right now. Going into 5000pts are likely and gradual but not fast/immediate" KIV. |

I was wrong saying mkt in recovery. If held on a while more, I may make a few dollars more, but the risk is there. Hence just cover lah! Cheers!

If I short, I tend to cover early, probably before 4.30pm. It's because, mant shortists will cover at the last half hour, so chance is the price may recover. | ||||
