Mid term and longer term, diffinately be going up... when you look into history even when market is up, there are rippers up and dow.. this is to fascilated the trader to trade with news, otherwise there is no motivation to trade or invest.. so I think when market dip, it is time to buy. I guess HSI will recover the losses this morning

I think this Dubai case could be just a blow-over. Market drop on Thursday should have absorbed most part of the "bad news" released before market close.. Monday should continue to drop a bit for those late comers in selling. No "abnormal" increase in sell volume on Thursday and a late buying-in attempt for most blue chip counters. Smiley

dollar can only soar on ..fed increase rate....economy really improve....or big bad news..

but the dollar will not crash like reported in straits times today..becos so many have so much in their vault...China is still supporting the $ to prevent their currency from strengtherning..just look at the treasury u know...yield is getting lower...so crash is out of question...and to replace the dollar with other is definitely out..not so easy..

just watch the dollar...and hope a rally coming soon for us to get out..or worse if it the crash come , just cut and stay out fast...

i thk most likely instuitution failure will cause the next crash..in 2010.

After reading today's ST article 'Ailing greenback ....' by Goh Eng Yeow, I am having the impression that as long as this USD carry trade is thriving, the boomz remains.

Short term bouts of volatilities are inevitable, but the big picture rally is intact until, and not before the USD carry trade unwinds say after several qtrs from now, when US economy stands on a firmer footing and the US Fed starts to raise interest rates.

That would mean there's still months to go before STI and others wobble big time. No imminent threat of big correction (>20%)...yet ...not end of Dec ...
