this is because STI is heavily weighted by SingTel. For STI to really lao sai, SingTel also must drop.

Guys let me share a secret or information or experience with U During one of the earlier crashes decades back, the STI held up very well while the other mkts went heaviky down. Guess what - did STI held all the way through the storm ?? No, it was only a matter of time before it went down heavily as well ............................... The lesson learnt by me : PATIENCE , don't buy early Whether it will apply this time, I don't know ............. |

If I say the Dow "Cheong Aaarrrhhh!!!", of course I mean up... If it is down, you already know I will surely say "lao sai" or "pengsan"... But maybe you still don't know me... hehehe...

One cannot just simply brush away the subliminal effects of yesterday's stock market 'glitch'... People everywhere are given a taste, as it were, of what big bear reality can be like... Thus, to expect a bull rise in the weeks ahead is not sound rationale... At the very most, rallies will be due to the many shorts who are smiling and covering their positions, taking their big fat profits, after the recent bear trend...

Soloman is right. People here who trade forex will know that the "glitch" happened to Dollar Index last Dec when the whole world said it would crash. The index shot up unexpectedly and then the news said that it was a trading electronic glitch. But after that, the dollar started a fierce rally many months until now. This case for US indices is also the "glitch" ! But in the reverse direction!
