Talking about broker, I still remember those days before online trading, My brokers are always so long-winded on the phone... and talk non-stop about this and that stock... I had such a hard time 'entertaining' them and their lengthy discourses... But at the same time felt a bit paisay to tell them... But in the end, I always placed my own orders (my selections) for them to key in... |

Ha ha, when there is uncertainty! Dun rush for the steps, for those who were in NS before. Broker just offered me Carlsberg as AK had almost cleared ALL my major holdings, last 2 weeks, today am, cleared last one. No hassle, no trading in May, go South Africa for World Cup in June, if free loh.

Yes, this is very true. Tat's why for many retail investors who believe that they can catch the top and "sell highest" before the onslaught comes, they need to think twice. When the market reverses at the top, normal investors like us may not be able to sell and then get stucked while we see the price plummet !

When big fund managers start selling or buying their holdings, the brokers will give priority to them and serve them first cos they get huge commissions from these transactions. It is possible that when there is a big surge of stock prices, some of us might experience system 'hanged' and unable to do transactoin. This happend during March or April this year whereby a sudden huge surge of stock took place. I am suspecting if the brokerage house meddled with the system to let those big transactions go through first . Just my guess. :P
