we do not want to sound very bullish but said that Market decides to stay in "NEUTRAL AND BUY ON DIP" category....and NOT MUCH MEAT for shortists after yesterday....good luck :)

STI: Unique market. Can be very good and can be lousy at times. Think this is corection as STI seems oversold in recent weeks. If the correction builds up well, then we might see it turn to bull. I am no technicians, but feel the market is moving upwards from now. DOW: Has fallen successively for 9 days of of 10 days. All prices are rock rock bottom. Can it go further to bust the whole US economy is a question to be asked. I think on these counts, it should be moving up very soon. DYODD |

Not only for safe harbour, investing in a company that pays good dividends will make one a winner over a period of time. Re M1, I think it has given rich rewards to shareholders over the years. Many counters like banks have also given good dividends and their share prices are well maintained.

Totally agree, i am defensive style... i don't like to hold stock that doesn't give up dividend... But problem with high dividend, is that, sometime the company lose out to competitor due to not re-invest enough... M1 is probably one of this type... sigh...

Recently I notice a new culture, that is the dividend culture that many companies are now building. Dividends are getting higher and higher. This might be a good way to boost the singapore stock market. It also discourages long term short market holds that could badly dampen prospects or sink market capitalization. Yes, very encouraging to see it. Hope the good dividend trend continues.. |

Probably both are correct? Assume the following scenario (only assumption) ============= stock link to macro economy, but then... if most compony in SG, are still making good profit, while, most company in US, making less money... so... it is more like a re-distribution of wealth, from West to East... through Singapore.... No China, due to China gov actively want to make their product cheap... so, they don't want to make RMB up... so... rich people in china, invest other place as well... to avoid inflation cost.... ==============
