Actually I quite like the way he put it ... straight forward.

I read abt the SMU student daniel mentioned on the ST Sunday Invest interviews a few weeks back. I remembered showing it to my cousin who lives with us (parents working in Shanghai) becos he is also a student studying econs and law (double degree NUS) and he has just started trading last year.

Cut the long story short.. before i leave this forum .. i just wanna share what the market is about.. it doesn't give a shit about you.. care about your feelings or whatsoever.. it has it's own rules.. own laws.. just like math... 1+1=2 and x^5 = y^5 when x=y ..... there's no running.. or hiding .. or anything.. it's the truth .. believe it or not.. read all the historical charts.. 1997 crash .. 2000.com bubble crash ... recent crash .. see all the historical charts.. see all the signs and signals.. see all the symptoms and see how it repeats itself over and over.. it's a law... it's just like a math question... 1+1 = 2 .. sometimes they show u 2-1 = 1 .. or 1x1 = 2 .. but all the same.. just different variations... I'm not a seer or a god.. but i have been reading about stocks since 14.. and i have seen through intern and jobs how the traders trade.. how they spend years practicing.. a lawyer and doctor takes 6 years of training to even earn a 6 figure annual income.. what more about a trader who can earn so much more...

You think it's only about buy/sell volume.. about this or that... for goodness sake.. if thats the case.. why do most people lose money.. dun believe? average yourself out since u started trading. keep a chart and see how much u earn or made (inclusive of inflation and i/r) and see how much better off your money is if u had park it in a bank .. if you are better off.. congrats.. ur a good trader.. no matter how small the profit .. it's still a profit... if you lose.. no matter how much u lose.. ur still a loser... whatever it is.. the main thing is to realize that emotional attachment.. speculating this or that and catching the trend will kill u .. formulate a plan a day before.. stick to it .. and ride it out... why do u think investment bankers start work at 2pm and end 8am? it's to prepare reports for their clients and the traders what to do or follow for the opening market... without preparation.. your f**ked.... if you think you can beat it .. and i'm talking cock.. okay.. good luck to you sir... if not.. please remember what i've said.. i don't want to sound pompous or anything.. after all i'm only 21 years old.... and many of you have eaten more rice then i have ate salt.... but i just don't want you all to cannot eat .. cannot sleep cuase of the money.. i've been there before and it sucks... and i hope that you all make it successful .. whatever strategies you use..

You must sell on 3 Dec or after to be entitled to dividend . :-)

If a stock distributes its dividend on Dec 30 but its ex-date is 3 Dec, when is the earliest I can sell the stock, if I want the dividend?

Is it on 2 Dec, 3 Dec, or 4 Dec ???

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very very much

Hi Daniel,

Just wondering where you learnt all the TA skills from. SMU dont really teach shares trading i suppose. If it's self learning, where do you purpose a place to learn. Tks in advance.

Umm .. ocbc.. cannot buy now.. please dun ka chng itchy go buy and get burn ... still way over bought despite the correction. Long term .. ocbc is valuated at about $10 or so.. if it's market cap is bigger then dbs then u would be talking about $13.50 to $14. Ocbc bk was overbought due to BOS's growth and news on their investing and Q3 result. but for now, i see it coming down .. from 10.26 to 9.5 absolutely no support whatsoever.. super hard fall if it drops... theortically from historical charts, OCBC good price is between 9 - 9.2+ with 9.3 being the 52wk high before the shoot. So ... 9.5 also abit risky.. no indicators developing at all. Good luck

last friday and today it drop so much ......i wonder how can i read this counter via your method ?

maybe those charts i use are free ones.... it seems to be reasonable when it touches 9.5.....

tomato, i was out in the afternoon and don't use iphone. Nope i won't buy ocbc and commit so much $ because i mainly cash trade for a peace of mind. Ocbc's pricey now and slightly off its 2 year high, today's only the 2nd black candle sitting btw the top and middle moving avg envelope lines. I didn't buy it when i watched ocbc at $4.9 way back and even more so now.

With more upside i prefer to put some money on genting or noble. Anyway should gsp complete bullish reversal in 3 days that's considered very fast, will it come so easily?

Reversal tp has anyone predicted thru charting is it 2.07 - 2.18, possibly reached intraday on huge vol buying & short covering? And what happens after the run up? trend sideways or fall again? 2.18 we'd just seen this price today. Daniel, what's your take on this?

The last significant fall was frm 2.16 all the way to 1.85, it took 8 black candles to wipe out 30 cents. Key reversal we saw 1 long white candle frm opening and the period after gsp trended sideways for 1-2 weeks.

Being a component stock gensp will likely trend in the same direction as STI i reckon, we should also keep an eye on the next support 3215.

Bladez87 i know ur about my age and your learning and i respect that.. but what i wanna tell u is this.. don't give an excuse and say because im specical or because im not an average joe on the street .. thats why if i succeed it's a given thing... your age.. your learning ability is not dependent on your family break ground .. it's on how hard you are willing to learn.. to try and most importantly of all ... how hard you freakin wanna make it in life... don't give yourself excuses cause of the social or economic status.. and be a whim and blame this or that... books can be found in the library .. in book stores.. what i have acquired.. you can afford it too.. if only you tried. your uni degree is just a paper that's worth that amount.... your real education starts on the streets..and most importantly of all . .your real education starts in the stock market when you put your money on the line to prove that you are the best damn trader out there..

:) just fyi ... 2.07 should be close to bottoming out price... macd .. stochastics and RSI seems to indicate that... today see USA opening and closing... if USA futures up and open strongly... it means market confidence starting to come back cause china index today's up ( correct me if i'm wrong) but if 2.07 is broken .. close all positions.. short it to 2.

Parabolic reversal has show it's head. Two days down parabolic reversal.

Lookalike of an Inverted hammer spotted (fatter hammer due to high volume trading)? The inverted hammer is identical in appearance to the shooting star.The inverted hammer is a signal that shorts are beginning to cover their positions.Since the inverted hammer can only occur after a sustained downtrend, the stock is in all probability already oversold.With this candle, it is imperative to watch the next day's trading action. If the stock opens strongly and remains strong during the day, then a key reversal is likely in progress.

Slightly above 50 days MA ... Probably gonna touch 50 days MA and thus the Inverted hammer. If the hammer does not fall below the MA50 which is at 2.07 .. then a key reversal is in place. RSI and STOCHS all down down to almost oversold point. need confirmation..... the MA20 cross over with bollingerband has been completed. Stocks fell on this cross over.. by over 0.15 drop. Possible to buy in at tp 2.07. Wait FOR CONFIRMATION .... 2.07 + 0.03 will see the new support being strong and can buy... thus the tp price to go long at 2.07 - 2.10 . For shorts. Time to cover your position and watch . For those going long. time to prepare your cash your balance and wait for 2.07 +0.03 (KEY NOTE MUST OPEN AT 2.07 and not OPENING 2.10 then drop to 2.07 then you go buy at 2.07 cause it means downward trend still) . If it doesn't break the MA 50 and free fall to 2... then you can prepare yourself for long opening.

Bollingerband band already at the bottom ...If it TOUCHES AND REBOUNDS then A KEY REVERSAL IS IN PLACE.. have to see if it bounces .. if it does.. congrats.. confirmation to buy bulls coming back.. if it doesn't and breaches it.. gg... 2 is in sight.

See peaks and bottoms. Line converging for reconsolidation. Probably 1 more day of reconsolidation and slight fall... 2 days of parabolic SAR is too short minimum 3-5 days... thus i would say by thursday, friday going onto monday depending on how the chart forms, it might be a reversal. Get ready.

My opinion: Probably gonna be bullish reversal soon. All of the charts and signals seems to be pointing towards a bullish reversal rather then a breach ..if it breaches.. then it's gonna be a long long fall for genting to 2.. failing that. MA100 is going to be the key at 1.86. Good luck all.
