STI to cross 3000 boosted by long-term investors

News from CNA - Ch 5 Small caps stks has taken centre stage on the S'pore Exch (SGX). Active buying in small caps stks pushed the FSTE/ST small cap index to gain some11% as compare to a 10% gain in the key STI index over the same peroid for this year. Samll cap stks also dominated the most avtive list in SGX in recent days. Out of top 20, 17 is avtively traded on last Friday.

DOW showed fantastic strength despite profit taking here and there, esp in the last 30 minutes trading hours. It was from 148 pts gain down to +135 points gain at 4.25a.m with profit taking pushing it down but it was then quickly steadily up again until it closed at +158 points at 5.00pm. Really fantastic! Shortists will sigh and Longists will surely enjoy the ride on Monday!

STI to hit 3000? that'll need a few more trading sessions, STI closed 2917 on Fri. let's watch whether the BBs are quietly distributing to the retail speculators this coming week..... | ||||

Sifu is right... No amount of nail-biting, or supreme confidence, or any in-depth analysis, or gut impresson, etc etc, can alter or predict the course of the market. One can only observe the outcome as it unfolds. It is one's ability to handle hindsight that matters more...

that depends on the BBs/Funds whether they want to play along this story line or not...so they say as early as Apr....after this quarter ??? at the moment, US/EU/China news seems to be the main story..... of course, anything can happen....good or bad.

I would not be surprised too if STI crosses over 3000 this quarter..... read my previous posts.....good luck to all. From the very first guy to call you buy penny. and now why broker will not disturb this penny rally. is because they need your $$$ after this long bear. only when they make enough and only when penny empty shell run wild, this is when they will change the rule of the game. but that is still far.. |

when the mkt is bullish just go long and make some extra $$$. If bearish then just short . Come Mon i think can consider to go long - semb marine,noble , sakari, sgx, semb corp , wilmar (short term tradeing)..

whatever strategy you use (trend following or counter trend) you should know before hand when to exit using stop loss and take profit. also you should know what timeframe you will be trading. short term you may be counter trend but you can be trend following using medium term timeframe. there are many ways of making money in the stock market. | ||||
