allantanhc, Market is foreward looking and it may not like the the potential threat by Singtel in the monopoly of the commercial pay TV market that Starhub current enjoys. |

didnt say when but next quarter will expect at least another 3c dividends. If Ah Sing can go to sub $3 leve;ls, Ah Hub should also go to at least $2.50. After all, they are brothers in the same business! I wonder what about 3rd brother Ah M? |

Hi, Singaporegal, would you mind sharing your insight on why do you intend to sell off this counter? I thought the results are respectable and dividend yield of 5.5% will certainly provide support at this price level. |

Singapore's StarHub Q3 net profit gains 25 pct* Q3 net profit: S$81.4 million * Q3 estimates: S$74 million and S$78 million * Forecast: Full-year operating revenue growth guidance narrowed to 14 pct from low teens previously By Jennifer Tan SINGAPORE, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Singapore's second-largest telecoms firm, StarHub Ltd. , said its quarterly net profit rose 25 percent on higher mobile usage and the bundling of its broadband Internet and cable TV services. StarHub, which is also Singapore's sole cable television provider, forecast full-year operating revenue growth of 14 percent and raised its 2006 dividend payout to at least 11 Singapore cents per share from 10 cents previously. "We recognise that the operating environment is becoming increasingly competitive," Chief Executive Terry Clontz told analysts in a conference call on Wednesday. Looking ahead, he said slowing quarter-on-quarter growth in mobile and broadband revenues would continue but that cable TV would enjoy good demand for more content. "We see continuing growth in cable TV in 2007, both in terms of new subscribers and ARPU (average revenue per user)." Net profit rose to S$81.4 million ($52.2 million) for the three months ended September from S$65.1 million in the year-earlier period and was above forecasts of S$74 million and S$78 million from UBS Research and Goldman Sachs. Operating revenues rose 16 percent to S$460.6 million. StarHub, Singapore's second-biggest mobile operator, competes with market leader Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. and third-ranked MobileOne Ltd. in a saturated domestic market, where the mobile phone penetration rate has reached 100 percent. DISRUPTIVE MOVE BY SINGTEL For the quarter, StarHub's mobile customer base grew 11 percent, representing a share of 33.2 percent, compared with SingTel's 38.5 percent. Mobile revenues contribute over half of group sales. Broadband sales, which account for 12 percent of group revenues, rose 22 percent, while cable TV sales, which contribute 17 percent, grew 21 percent. StarHub's fixed networks division was the star performer, expanding 23 percent, driven by a 25 percent jump in its data and Internet business and a 21 percent rise in the voice business. This unit accounts for 15 percent of total sales. Clontz said the entry of another player into the pay-TV market had been widely anticipated but that SingTel's approach -- which involves chasing after the incumbent's content and customer base -- would alter the operating environment for the worse. SingTel said on Tuesday it had applied for a commercial pay-TV licence in a bid to break the highly lucrative monopoly held in the city-state by StarHub. It is also submitting a rival bid to air English Premier League (EPL) matches from August 2007 to May 2010. "That means it's going to be highly disruptive in terms of driving up content costs for everyone and will evoke an immediate and swift competitive response," Clontz said. "We fully understand the value of EPL, and we are prepared to win. If we do not win, we've got a very good, cohesive plan B." Clontz declined to elaborate on plan B but noted it could involve beefing up other parts of its pay-TV portfolio, such as other sports content. ------------------ |

Hi shplayer, Acc/Dist can be treated as leading indicators. When a divergence occurs, there's a higher chance of price uptrending occuring. |

I am vested as well.. But, bear in mind, please don't expect the price will go up eventhough the Nov 9 results is good.... UTAC is one good example... luckily UTAC is coming back (UP) slowly now.. But I still hope starhub can rock and roll after Nov 9, hope for the best!. |

Hi shplayer, The divergence can be seen in the Acc/Dist and the Chaikin charts. They're slowly going upwards but the price is stagnant or slightly downtrending. |
