Really sucks to find out that City Index charge me $600 for buying and another $600 for selling 33,000 shares of Genting HK US$. That’s $1,200 commission for a $12,000 shares. 10% commission!!! Really ridiculous. I immediately called their service line. They said that although it’s listed in SGX, but because its done in USD, it’s calculated according to US Stocks, which is $0.02 per share. I argue with them that it cannot be calculated like this because Singapore stocks is listed in SGX and commission calculation is different from NYSE. Location is different and nobody buy Singapore stocks like US stocks. You can’t said because it’s in USD, therefore it must be calculated as US stocks. Anyway, $1,200 commission for $12,000 share is ridiculous, even a layman knows it. But, they just fall back to their terms and conditions said it was printed there, you just didn’t look and ask me to appeal. Anyway, I’m closing my City Index account and I’m posting this to warn everyone about their ridiculous commission calculation. |
