the well-known " mad dog" of libya are going all out to whack hard on all the rebels. although the protest at there was quite a similiar one from china tiananmen, which was made up from china scholars. In mid east, it may be an total different situation, they're demand for an reform. Will these reform be as successful as the one in china, we'll have to wait and hear... I believe libya collapse will bring in more unstability to mid east and i doubt the rebels might end  up losers. the rebels is just a word description, think about chaotics from that state, it could be an civil warfare more than external warfare.  in civil warfare, only their citizens are the ones who suffer the most...   |

http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/features/2011/03/201134183658331534.html Hosni Mubarak’s Egypt, privitisation so-called mkt reforms in 2004 " triggered an impressive acceleration of growth," according to a 2008 International Monetary Fund (IMF) survey, 40% of the population continued to live on less than 2 dollars/day, while skyrocketing property prices made apartment ownership almost impossible for many middle class families. The pie may have gotten bigger, but many bakers remained hungry.  " A society that is very unequal always has the pressure of instability," Amorim. Brazil's former foreign minister Lessons to learn? (Like it or not...Egypt's can get good example from Brazil.)   Violent revolution did not bring down the Junta. " When the military govt fell, we didn't immediately write a new constitution," Amorim said. " We elected a committee which spent two years writing a new one" in a process that finished in 1988. After elections in 1989, Brazil was generally believed to be a democracy. To tackle inequities, Brazil’s govt, under President Luiz  Ignacio Lula  de Silva, a former metal worker and union leader, initiated a series of programmes, including scholarships and income subsidies for the poor, Amorim said. Subsidies are given to poor families under certain conditions: For example, that they send their children to school. Money is given to the female head of the household, rather than the husband. " It doesn't go this way in the Muslim world, [but] in Brazil, if you give the money to the father, they drink it all," Amorim said. " People were pretty hopeless about democracy in Latin America " What's going on in Middle East is incredibly" . If Katz is correct, and the uprisings across the Middle East result in more democratic governance, Mark Katz, a professor at George Mason University saad, likely ties will increase between Latin America and Arab world. There is a  " good reason to believe the Middle East will go down the path of Latin America" . Note--Chile, Uruguay and Argentina also threw-off the shackles of military rule, along with most other counties in the region.

The situation in Libya is grave...       And like other markets, the bull run in oil  can also have a               correction (like now) before charging fiercely up again.                       For those who believe in God, only He can help the world.                           " 2012" may not be fiction after all... this is no laughing matter...  ![]() |

Oil cannot afford to go up further and its looking to fall pretty soon. 1) Why the world cannot simply afford it - China is Fighting Inflation aggressively, US  has been spending Trillions of  dollar to support its recover .....  they cannot afford it. World 1 + 2  will not let it happen..... Dont worry about the speculations ... its doesnt mean anything. 2)  US + Saudi +  OPEC are willingly to meet the short fall of Libya  oil output.... Also  since 2008  globally has been switching to alternative  energy....  Its just speculations... The demand isnt raising....

http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews/World/Story/A1Story20110227-265503.html LONDON, ENGLAND - Two British military aircraft swooped into strife-torn Libya on Saturday and evacuated more than 150 foreign nationals from remote camps in the desert.  The Royal Air Force C130 Hercules transport planes involved in the daring rescue later landed in Malta after picking up the civilians from south of Benghazi, said Defence Secretary Liam Fox.       Britain also closed its embassy in Tripoli after evacuating all staff on the last government-chartered flight out of the the capital, amid mounting violence by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi.       " I can confirm that two RAF C130 Hercules aircraft have evacuated more than 150 civilians from desert locations south of Benghazi," Fox said.       The mission was cloaked in secrecy that it involved troops from Britain's elite Special Boat Service who are normally tasked with maritime counterterrorism, the planes entered Libyan airspace without permission and flew to the town of Nafoora in eastern Libya, before splitting up and heading to Amal and Wafa in the oil fields.       " While we sat on the aircraft waiting to take off there were reports of gunfire and all of a sudden another 20 or 30 guys were stuffed on the aircraft and we took off," Nigel Bilton, one of those rescued, was quoted as saying by The Sunday Times.       " I think things were starting to hot up. We flew treetop all the way across the desert, it was quite spectacular. It was a big, big relief to see those guys," said Bilton, who was working for Siemens in southern Libya. teeth53 thot - It was like a story seen like taken from a show.       |

Libya live report: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20110225/tts-libya-mideast-unrest-libya-a9aa023.html World oil prices are rising again today as supply worries persisted due to escalating unrest in the oil-rich Middle East and North Africa, traders said. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in April rose 76 cents to $112.12 per barrel, having rocketed yesterday to $119.79 -- the highest level since August 22, 2008 -- before sliding lower as many traders took profits. New York's light sweet crude for April, known as West Texas Intermediate (WTI), has gained 76 cents to $97.47 a barrel today.

http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/africa/news/article_1621920.php/Libya-death-toll-mounts-officials-warn-of-chemical-weapons-use Cairo/Tripoli - A former Libyan minister warned that strongman Moamer Gaddafi may resort to using biological and chemical weapons as he lost control of ever larger parts of the country, a news report said. Former justice minister Mustafa Abdel Galil told the broadcaster Al Jazeera that Gaddafi had those weapons and would not hesitate to use them against civilians. 'At the end when he's really pressured, he can do anything. I think Gaddafi will burn everything left behind him,' he warned late Thursday. The regime is known to still possess substantial quantities of mustard gas. Gaddafi agreed in 2003 to dismantle Libya's nuclear and chemical weapons programme, and has destroyed about 50 per cent of its chemical weapons, but due to delays is still believed to have stockpiled 9.5 tons of mustard gas. |

Power can be given to any ordinary persons who are     just like  anyone else with the same or better capabilities.           But when the awesome power of an ordinary person is removed,             that person will just become like any other common ordinary person.                       Thus it is utmostly important not to give power to the wrong people.                             Imagine how much money Tunis, Mubrak, Gadafi etc have accumulated                                 for themselves during decades. The final outcome is natural, to say the least... ![]()

If he doesn't step down... then obviously the bloodshed will continue. Tyrants profile, die die they are right, even when they are wrong! Unless the army turns against him. Then again, does Libya have any form of ruling party that can take over if GhaDaffyDuck steps down? Hail Caesar!

UNITED NATIONS – Key Libyan diplomats disowned Moammar Gadhafi's regime for its brutal crackdown on protesters and the country's deputy U.N. ambassador called for an urgent meeting of the U.N. Security Council that will take place Tuesday. The Libyan ambassador to the United States urged Gadhafi to step down, the ambassador to India resigned as did the ambassador to Bangladesh who protested the killing of family members by government troops. Almost all Libyan diplomats at the United Nations backed deputy ambassador Ibrahim Dabbashi's pleas to Gadhafi to end his 40-year rule and to the international community to intervene...    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110222/ap_on_re_eu/libya_diplomacy   |

I think " No congregation of 5" is inherited from the Malaysia ISA when Singapore was part of Malaysia. The West especially the USA are waiting to see the downfall of Asian and Muslim Countries that don't listen and follow their ideology and then try to benefit from it.
