BANGKOK - Thousands of supporters of ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra rallied outside Thailand's main government offices in Bangkok Saturday, vowing to fight on until the new administration left office. The protesters spent nearly two hours marching towards Government House, arriving just before midnight (1700GMT) after making their way past four steel barricades across their route, manned by unarmed riot police.

Rally leaders read a list of demands to the cheering crowd, vowing to return and stage a permanent protest in 15 days' time if these were not met.

Thai is beginning to be divided into three section, North/North East, Central and South, while South has taken up arm, it seem Bangkok is sandwich as no one in Thailand is seen as strong leader to unite d Thais, unless Thais themself, especially those urban poor n those poor farmers, their living standand is lifted. Is not going to take one year, don't say even by year end of 2009. It's a setback by five if not ten years...a Big if only it can last, hope it end on 2009 like what he, Thais PM said so.

Thai politics is different from US politics and Singapore politics is also different from most countries. The monarchy thinks that Abisit is a loyal subject and backs him all the way whether it is right or wrong. Reasons are not important to the ignorant breeds, but nice words and bullshits will get their support and bring them power.  Unless Thais remove the monarchy system, there is no fight for Takshin. That means a revolution in Thailand. Simple as that

teeth53 thot so...A big If...while S'pore expected recession to last at least a year till 2010

Abhisit said said the finance ministry was in negotiations with international financial institutions for a possible cash injection, mainly with regional development banks. "There could be a second financing package if necessary." Abhisit said the Thai economy was now technically in recession but he hoped it would return to positive growth in the final quarter of 2009.
His government has a future "if we can deliver on what we promised, bringing stability back, running the economy well, no corruption scandals."

The world economic crisis was a "bigger risk" for his government and that he could order new stimulus measures on top of a 116-billion-baht (3.3-billion-dollar/2.5-billion-euro) package approved by parliament this week.

BANGKOK - THAILAND'S deeply divisive ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday launched an attack on new Prime ...

'I am not concerned who will copy my policies, because I am more concerned about people,' Thaksin said on Democracy Television. 'But even if it is the same policy, if the people who implement it are different people it could have a different outcome,' said the twice-elected premier who was ousted in a military coup..Sept 2006. 'When I was in government, I listened to people who really had problems
