Superstar! Thank you very much. I have been a firm believer in using this method to arrive at the intrinsic value of a company, but unfortunately met with quite a number of roadblocks. Now .... I have a guru to turn to. Cheerio!

There is no need for alarm when you see just one or 2 red figure in the operating cash flow. When the cash Flow suddenly turn red, the next thing to look at is the "Changes in Working Capital". When Changes in Working Capital is Red, it implied company is investing more on asset than liabilities. So it is a good sign! and show the company is expanding. If you take a closer look at the SPH's Changes in Working Capital in 2009, you will see that it is higher than other year. It means that it could be expanding and investing in more asset. Note: Some company might always show negative cash flow but still earning money, this is possible and this mean that Discounted Cash Flow Model cannot be used to analyze this type of company.

I have a question. I'd looked at SPH Year 2009 Annual Report and noticed that the Initial Cashflows is a negative figure. What does that spell? Am I looking at the right place? Please advise. Many thanks.

The calculator has been modified to display the future value as well. Now the graph display both the Present and Future value. Click Shift + refresh if your browser did not display both the line (just in case the old script is still in ur cache) | ||||

I've been looking for this tool to find the undervalue stocks. Great job! A simple request, hope to see a simple demo at the bottom at the page for the newbie like me. For e.g. Start with a screen of Y! finance showing where exactly to pick up the needed data. Next screen showing the result. This can assure me how to use your tool correctly. Just sharing my tot! :P Thanks again for sharing this wonderful tool!!! |
