Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings. It began establishing new highs two weeks ago when it first broke above the $1.50 mark on August 23 and has continued its upward momentum to currently trade at its highest level in more than two years. The run comes on the back of listing and takeover announcements. Today, Yangzijiang becomes the first Chinese company to list on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Separately, the company also said that it is in talks to buy shipyards after an industry-wide slump in orders last year damped prices. In June, Bloomberg reported that the company bought control of Jiangsu Changbo Shipyard Co as the end of the global recession prompted shipping lines to start buying new vessels. |
