Yangzijiang Shipbuilding to Launch Secondary Listing on TWSE

Taipei, April 20, 2010 (CENS)--With Taiwan`s TDRs (Taiwan depository receipts) quickly rising in the Asian capital market, the China-based Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) and Japan-based DRAM (dynamic random access memory) chipmaker Elpida have expressed interest to apply to launch TDRs on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE). Yangzijiang, listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, will soon submit applications to Taiwan authorities.

The listing of Yangzijiang TDRs will be enormously meaningful to Taiwan`s TDR market as Yangzijing a leading shipbuilder in China, and the TWSE has no 100% China-capitalized firm.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was incorporated in Singapore on December 21, 2005 under the name of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Pte. Ltd., producing a broad range of commercial vessels including mini bulk carriers, bulk carriers, multi-purpose cargo vessels, containerships, chemical tankers, offshore supply vessels, rescue and salvage vessels and lifting vessels.

The company has a new shipyard currently under construction, located within the Jiangyin Economic Development District in Jiangjiang city in the Jiangsu province. Upon completion, the new shipyard will have 1,200 meters of deep-water coastlines suitable for construction and mooring of vessels of up to 300,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage).

Yangzijiang scored 554 million renminbi in earnings, up 28% year-on-year, on sales of 2.6 billion renminbi in the third quarter of 2009. It is expected the company will see earnings hit an all-time high of 2.3 billion renminbi in 2009, up 45% year-on-year.

In addition to listing TDRs on the TWSE, Yangzijiang is considering to form strategic cooperation with Taiwan`s shipbuilder and shippers to further drive development of relevant industries across the Taiwan Strait.

So is this good for stock tmr?? Anyone care to comment?

DMG & Partners Securities Pte raised its share-price forecast to $1.80
from $1.48 and maintained its “buy” rating, saying the acquisition of PPL
Holdings, which owns a 15% stake in a Singapore-based oil rig builder,
will help boost earnings.

Tiger Air to launch new flights from Avalon Airport in Victoria

Melbourne-based Tiger Airways Australia Pty Ltd, the fully-owned subsidiary of
Tiger Airways Holdings, today announced its third base for Australia and new
flights to operate from Avalon Airport in Victoria later this year.

At the same time, Avalon Airport announces a multi-million-dollar expansion of
its facilities to cater for more flights with today’s announcement that Tiger
Airways will fly from the airport later this year.

The new base at Avalon Airport will complement existing services at Melbourne’s
Tullamarine Airport and allow Tiger Airways to further increase its fleet in
Australia. The two new A320 aircraft which will be based at Avalon Airport will
increase the number of Tiger Airways aircraft in Australia to 11.

Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director, Shelley Roberts, said that the
opportunity to operate Tiger Airways flights from Avalon Airport was a major
win for the growing airline, increasing opportunities for Australian travellers.

Linfox Airports Executive Chairman David Fox said the arrival of Tiger Airways
was the most significant announcement for Avalon Airport since passenger
services began at the airport in June 2004.

CLSA says: "According to media reports, another condition attached to the loan was that
US$3 billion of the US$10 billion loan must be used to buy machinery and equipment
produced in China. Fresh reports suggest that Petrobras is in fresh talks with CDB
(China Development Bank) for second US$10 billion loan, which should be a further positive
for Chinese companies, should the deal come through.".........

CLSA reckons that Cosco is a key contender for Petrobras' ongoing tender for 28 rigs and
Cosco could win as many as four orders......

CLSA says Cosco could be worth as much as $2.

Hong Leong Asia target price raised to $5.67 by DBS Vickers

DBS Vickers has raised Hong Leong Asia (H22.SG) target price to $5.67 from $4.36, based on sum-of-parts valuation, after increasing P/E peg for China unit Yuchai to 16x FY10 earnings from 6x to align with peer average.

DBS Vickers says Yuchai, which makes diesel engines, poised to benefit from China’s booming auto sales, but notes unit undervalued by market despite its dominant market position, strong earnings prospects.

“Improved transparency and corporate governance will raise Yuchai's valuation towards the industry's average and add value to Hong Leong Asia shareholders,” says the broker who is keeping its “buy call.
