The reality is that quite a few Singaporeans might have to work beyond 62 as they might not have enough money to last till their old age. If companies decide not to employ you beyond 62, and if there is a one time payment, it is unlikely to be enough. I told a few of my friends this. If one does not invest, it might not be so easy in future to have enough for your retirement. Don't just depend on work to generate income. One day if you lose your job, you are stuck. In fact some of my friends with families are in a situation where what income is earned a month is all spent. So there is not much net savings. The situation can be worse when one loses his job.

One has to invest long term in blue chips with sound management and thus good divvy yield. avoid pennies......those like below 30 cts stuff.....no divvy and last to move up when the mkt is hot and first to fall when mkt collaspsed. Do not get too worried about TA stuff.They are just there so that TA ppl can show u how "clever" they are. In other words,keep it simple. |

right, 90% of the people lost money in stocks -- cos' they would make a little and lost more when being followers of buy calls....medium to long term investments is the best way.. the only time that all retail investors can make money is when stock markets crashed and you pick up good stocks at low price...but not many have money to buy when stock markets crashes.. | ||||

Investmts r 4 long term @ least 1 - 2 yrs time & u'll hv profits earned... Short term u r sure wun c anything. Dat's y dun play ctr. BBs like 2 kick e Ctr Players away & usually Ctr Players die & disappear faster. If a Counter suddenly cheong v v high a day. Muz becareful liao... ('',)

I think both veterans Andrew and Bon3260 are cool and funny guys. Surely both of 'em do read and do researches... So far Bintang had been giving the forumers of how things would come to be... I think learning to read and engaging in TA is a wise and sound investment for people like us to dive into the shark pool, with just a pathetic cage housing and nothing else! Kudos to all of them whom had contribute to the forums and do help us to get back to mothership, eh....if we do!!!!

I thought consumer spending is more important. New housing start may have more effect on DOW as the index is based on 30 bellweather stock but not so for the S&P500 S&P500 may be better today as it is more broad base lor. Another headline news : Consumer Spending in U.S. Climbs Less Than Forecast in bloomberg......

I'm not an expert... But my advise's dun buy shares now when STI reaches abv 2,800pts. Wait till STI below 1,800pts dan u start 2 trade. No need experts / TA 2 guide u along. Wat u need during dat time's "GUTS". & u'll b v v safe...
