Not sure yet. Maybe join my friend in fund reconcilation. I was in customer service for 6 years. Graduate at the wrong timing in 1999 when market is in recession. Log into ITE website, they are still looking for people. Many interviewees are there. and Go for interview first la. No fear no gian. Spend 20 minutes written essay (very easy one) and 3 -5 min presentation (topic is easy but if u dont like presentation to the class, then must reconsider properly this career). |

Hi Mike, today went for interview as Lecturer in ITE. They have two scheme. Graduate and non graduate. For gradute, you must be from nus, ntu or smu. My degree will be considered as non graduate. Pay slightly difference but performance and incentive will be the same. Elf - what job are u looking for, i know a few industry that need people badly. |

I think now is not a good time to hire. Many people are also hunting around after getting their year end bonus. Also, recession is coming and some companies are cutting jobs. |

This is a very practical world. Even with a general degree (art and social science, economic etc) from local universities is much easier to find a government job than external or distant learning degrees. A lot of people are not aware of this. PSB and Informatics are the main players here. |

http://money.cnn.com/2008/01/31/news/economy/longterm_unemployment/index.htm Why the job market is worse than you thinkAn unemployment rate of 5% is low by historic standards. But the number of people out of work for long stretches is rising dramatically. |

There are 3 type of graudates. 1. From Local U such as NUS & NTU 2. From overseas U studying overseas 3. From overseas U studying in Singapore (External degree) For GIC, they would employ 1 & 2. My friend in garhem told me they accept 1 & 2 as they have to follow a strict guidelines on recruitment. For 3 - sorry, private sector. Unless you are a first class in type 3 and is willing to accept pay that is normally lower than type 1, they take you in. |

My company also hiring. Got quite a number of staff left for greener pasture. Economy seems to be holding on well so far. But I also got suppliers/contractors complaining that market is slowing down. I believe it's more sector related. |

Wah... haha.. .now SJ become recruitment center. parkings - if you want to go high in Gahmen career, you must be scholar. Otherwise, you will find it difficult to rise to senior level. Most normal graduates are in middle management. |
