Accumulation of these shares as much as you can within this quarter is strongly recommended. The share price will appreciate tremendously along with the emerging up rises from the formerly known as "sun-set industry". (CAVEAT EMPTOR)

Am glad that Obama has implemented taxation on fuel used by facotry instead of taxing on production. I think if less fuel used, less tax to pay, demand of oil will drop............it should contain the oil price and hope it goes below $50 per barrel  so our power supply bill will be reducedd.

Hi Hulumas,

Nah, I m not tat type tat surrender easily, I m a fighter but reminded by admin not to reply to such pests and it is not my style, I will definitely rebut to defend my conscience, so its best I stay out to avoid being taunted n flamed and caught in a dilemna.

From the look of thing (users online status n clciking on their nick), looks like the pests are gone for about a day.

Shall wait till the pests are gone for good n hope they dun morph, mutate or re-incarnate n reappear as another nick, in any case, if they do, "a leopard never change its spots", can tell.

Really hope tat they are gone for good and dun morph, mutate, reincarnate as another nick to taunt n flame forumers

There was no recovery to start with...

The problem is people take this rebound as the usual recovery a la the business cycle...

But the truth is, this crisis is unprecedented... arising out of a systemic malady...

Thus, recovery may be far off yet...

Most local counters are have already showed obvious signs of tanking... Smiley

I notice from STI 1345 till now STI about 2280, you had never said SGX market is promising, I wonder if you would wait till index STI reaches 3400 and break the new high then you 'll say it is promising and start buying? Ha. ha.. ha...

iPunter      ( Date: 08-Jul-2009 13:28) Posted:

I think the immediate situation now is not too promising...

Reading the world news, one may be able to smell a rat around the corner...

Furthermore, there is rampant talk that the first US bailout/stimulus package may not be sufficiently effective in bolstering things,

and a much bigger package is called for...

Amidst this backdrop,  a fierce bull run or even a recovery (the 3-month rebound nothwithstanding) is highly unlikely...

A double bottom then may be a more reasonable expectation... Smiley

10 barred from notes sale

SINGAPORE - Singapore's central bank banned 10 financial institutions on Tuesday from selling structured products, saying the firms had sold notes linked to Lehman Brothers without ensuring their staff were properly trained.

The 10 financial institutions are DBS Group , UOB Kay Hian , OCBC Securities, ABN AMRO (Singapore Branch), Maybank Singapore, CIMB-GK Securities, Hong Leong Finance , DMG & Partners, Phillip Securities and Kim Eng Securities.

ABN, DBS, Maybank, DMG and UOB Kay Hian received the lightest ban of six months, while Hong Leong Finance was slapped with the heaviest penalty of two years, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) said in a statement.

Huh, according to your evaluation about Sgd. 146,400.00 per broker daily gross profit. Every broker gets wind fall man!

keepnosecrets      ( Date: 07-Jul-2009 14:58) Posted:

Monday's volume of 1,263 million shares totalling SGD $976.8 million.  Today upto now half of val.

How many brokerages?  Are there 20 or more?  I don't know.

But based on 20 each will have say earn 0.3 percent on 48.8 mil which is $146,400.00.  per broker.  I doubt the weak ones can survive for next 6 months.

I got this email from a CNA friend. Guess who is the BRO mentioned here?!

[quote]

Be VERY CAUTIOUS with those BROs you though could make you rich...

How I got into this mess: My "BRO" sent me a few SMSes on THU 1 Nov b4 Mkt opens (I was already in office solving a colleague's PC problem).
- "Biosensors <$1 just grab. I bot xxxlots for contra"
- "What's the news?"
- "Just grab. TP today $1.08"

So I quickly went abck to my desk, logged on & check: Sell $0.93; Buy $0.98. I Q at 0.97 for 30 lots.

- "Bro. OK or not ? I Q at 0.97"
- "Good"

That was how I got into this mess.
Then FRI US fell 3xx points.

I SMS him early in the morning after checked that Bios Buy $0.87; Sell $0.905:
- "Bro, Your Advise"
- "No problem. Short 50 lots at 0.87 - 0.89. 100 lots also OK I always short in the am & cover should make"
- "But I nv done Shorting leh. OK or not?"
- "No problem"

So I Q $0.88 to Sell 80 lots.
... Partial fill 50 lots.
I further Re-Q at 0.875 to short 22 lots.

- "Bro, no worries, later when HK open, sure drop further. Dun look at the screen, go shopping & back later pm"

... When HK opened, I nearly fainted! Bios went up instead.

- "Bro. How? Went up instead"
- "I tot you covered at 0.87 you didn't?"

Wa! heard this I almost heart attack! KANA played out liao!
Some more asked me to go shopping but I kancheong type kept staring at screen if not jia lat man!

- "Cover loss brokerage only nvm"

I Q 0.875, missed; 0.88, missed then 0.885.
Wa LAN K.nn during the panick I bought in 80 lots again in stead of covering 50 lots.

I SMS him after that.

- "Its a blessing in disguise, CE Mark coming, xxx banks are buying"

I posted my article on intimate contact with Bios...

Monday morning.
- "Bro, I Q 0.91 to sell"
- "No too early, CE Mark news. You dun look at the screen, I monitoring whole day. Will let you know at right price"

I was out till 4.30pm.
He never SMS me whole day must be good news?
When I logged on almost fainted again. 0.855, going down.
- "Bro would you pls offer some help. I am in big trouble."
No response.

I thought he was away or busy.
Then I realised he was still posting in other threads giving advise.

I Q & only managed to let go at 0.84 - 0.845.

So Sad.
- "Bro would you pls offer some help. I am really in big trouble."
No response.

Also, before this Biosensors he earlier kept asking me to buy Oculus when the RTO news came out.

I asked really can meh. He said BETTER than Svaings A/C. Treat as Fixed Deposit for only 3 - 5 months sure make. TP above $0.50, maybe above $0.60. That's why most of my savings went to Oculus as he kept sweetening it.

I noticed price getting lower. He told me not to be bothered by the current prices...

I then saw one thread he posted 2 days ago, asking people to sell...
Wa LAN?!

Today again I saw his post: He actually sold off at 0.96, BUT I was called to buy at 0.97 b4 market opened... Why Did he do that?

NOW I really regret. BUT If I blow his cover, I dunno what will happen.
I also dunno what to do with Oculus. If sell, my savings all down by almost half.

I also suspect he is actually a typical Hit-&-Run guy & not a sincere friend. With his earnings by just one SHORT deal he could make more than $200K.

AND after getting me into this he still posted in my thread to console me... Wa LAN. I think he can easily underwrite my losses...

BTW, my wife & kids returned last night bcoz my sons needs to go to school today. She just asked me to get back our savings. BUT how?

I am a person with little savings. Hope to make some extra money for better life. Got into this mess. Only Stupid enough to believe him.

BTW, I have met him b4 for kopi the day b4 my Birthday. He stays in Bishan. He said he didn't trust anyone in the forum but thought we can be friends.

I have alerted Johnnytanki on MSN & he also stuck in Oculus with paper loss.

Haiz.
