Just a word of advice: Do not follow blindly; Buy what you know; Sell what you earn. 

Don't buy when many people are buying; it may be already at its highest

Don't sell when many people are selling; it may be already at its lowest

Start buying when many people are selling; it may be at your bargain

Start selling when many people are buying; it may be at your best profit.

Be alert when market is too hot, it is your sign of exit

Be alert when market is too soft, it is your sign of entrance

Practice Practice Practice and you will perfect it one day.

x 0 		Dark pool trades activities should only applied or allowed to non-marginable and illiquid share counters (accordingly to the recent market trading volume mechanism development needs) for its probation period of say one year, that should be wise and timely decision by SGX I suppose!!!

said the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

In a written reply yesterday to a parliamentary

question by West Coast GRC MP Ho Geok Choo,

MAS said that it recognises the lack of transparency

and possible market fragmentation that may arise

in trading via dark pools or crossing networks.

MAS added that regulatory frameworks are

already in place to address these issues.

Dark pools, whose transactions could affect

market prices, are relatively new in Asia, although

the alternative platform has been widely used in

the United States and Europe.

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced in

August last year that it is partnering with technology

company Chi-X Global to develop and launch the

first exchange-backed dark pool platform in Asia.

The move is expected to boost liquidity and

capital flows in the region as it will allow investors

to trade equities on the SGX and offshore exchanges

such as Australia, Japan and Hong Kong.

Crossing networks have been under the regulatory

regime on recognised market operators

since Sept 2007, MAS said. Under this rule, market

operators can only offer trading access to institutional

investors and must comply with statutory

regulations to ensure that the market is fair and

orderly, risks are managed prudently and they do

not act against public interest.

To enhance transparency, dark pools or crossing

networks are required to regularly submit trade

reports to the central bank and maintain an audit

trail of their trades, said MAS. Each trade should

also be reported to the SGX “to ensure consolidated

post-trade transparency”.

To prevent liquidity from being fragmented

in the local exchange, MAS said that crossing networks

are required to follow the current SGX limit

of orders above $150,000 or 50,000 shares for

off-exchange trades. Such transactions must also

be reported within 10 minutes of execution. MAS

has also set a limit on the volume that any crossing

network can trade in any single SGX-listed share.

MAS said SGX is responsible for the detection

of irregular trading and following up on suspicious

trades as part of its surveillance and enforcement

work. After initial investigations, SGX can refer relevant

cases to MAS, which has the statutory powers to

obtain information including an investor’s identity.

MAS added that it will continue to monitor the

development of crossing networks in Singapore

and global regulations relating to dark pool entities

and review the regulatory regime if needed.

The SGX and Chi-X Global dark pool trading

platform is targeted to be operational by the first

half of 2010 and will operate in accordance with

regulatory approvals and controls, reporting, settlement

systems and compliance standards. The

Central Depository will clear SGX stocks.

WHY?   The same ICE CREAM (in 1.5 litre box) selling at SINGAPORE Supermaket for S$5.00 is selling at JB Supermarket for RM5.00?

Is the transportation cost from JB to Singapore plus 7%GST equals to 110% of the INCREASE COST?

OR Are the Singapore RETAILERS CUTTING SINGAPOREANS' THROATS????

XIAO YA....

This TYPE and RATE of INFLATION can KILL every Singaporean consumer....

There are many more ITEMS....of same PRICING PHENOMENOM....

The old man said: "Kiang to ho, mai kay khiang" - being smart is enough, dun be overly smart. Thus, pay them appropriately, not too much until they can actually retired for good after a 2-3 years sting or for the case of our minister, 1-2 terms.

Have anyone wonder why our CPF's SA ceiling was raised last year from $106k to $117k an increase of >10%? Is Sg's inflation last year at 10%??

1 more thing 2 share, do u all realize sth in every 1st Prize on Wed 4Ds? 4 e.g. last Wed (06-Jan-2010) 1st Prize appeared 2098. So cming Sat & Sun’ll appear R8RR in 1st, 2nd or 3rd Prize. If R8RR din appear on Sat & Sun. Tis’ll carry 4ward again in nxt Wed Draw RRR8 again in 1st Prize. Of cos, ball’s round. But, u try monitor & c urself…



 



 

Abv mentioned was juz a tip. If u 1 2 buy 4D. U need 2 guess RRRR, which r 10000 nos. If u noe 2nd Digit, u’ll only need 2 guess 1000 nos instead.



 



 

I hv a friend use 2 win 4Ds every mth by using tis logic. He doesn’t like 2 buy shares, but use monies 2 invest in S’porepools. Every mth he used SGD 9k – 10k to buy R_RR @ $1 each every Sat & Sun Draw. Every Draw spend $1k & end of e mth he really hv won monies…
