i once heard this from a old time analyst.new stock listing is like a baby just born.normally got people love and it is really nice to hold other people baby. just all the so cute so cute but no need to handle the shit.

new stock also same. new everyone love. after the initial excitement, reality kicks in.

not saying surely bad but will need time to tell.

By going public, the boss has collected back a vey substantial amount of monies

and can reinvest.The boss is now earning a very very fat pay cheque every month

plus many many other benifits. The beauty of going public.

Can you imagine the big banks in US and other banks go burst.

Banks with more than 100 yrs in business.

Buying into the future is what you think.

Obviously if I think that in future Genting SP will go up to $8,

than it is very cheap to buy now. ONI $1.10 cheap cheap

This counter is more of a speculative nature. Analysts play guessing game

predicting future earning with various numbers to support it. Obviously, if

you said X yrs the earning will be so much, you will put a very nice Y earnings.

Fundamently,the co.is still bleeding. What the future will be let wait and see.

as i see it, genting will trade at 1.05~1.10 range till XR. 1.05 is supported by 20day MA and 1.10 is the critical support turned resistance. so can expect the price to drop to 0.875~0.915 range after XR.  but then again the BBs may play a different tune and push the price up instead like what they did before the rights issue announcement.

Hi Risktaker, these activities actually sucks the market of its funds (money), mostly belonging to the smallplayers. I agree with you that it is not easy to prove that they are wrong doing because so long as the trades are not considered wash trades (meaning same account both buyer and seller at same price), the watchdog cannot bark at the people involved who are engaged in this kind of sucking money from the investors. However, because this kind of strategies can meet with disaster when there is another stronger team also at play in the same counter. Like you want to push down because you are nett short, I want to push up because my side is nett long, and if I am stronger, I can whack you and your team and eventually your house will suffer big losses.  Eventually your company stockholders suffers as much as the players of shares.

One of the reasons why some banks failed is these kind of manipulation because when they are net short, they dump all their nominee shares held with them in order to win and should things turn against them, eg, announcement and news, then they will face the same fate as lehman, and ML and BSterns and Barings and many others.  Watchdog should have the IQ to understand all these.

tonylim - I totally supported your views.

Analysts future TP are numbers only.That what they think.

Analyse protential future earnings.Can it be acheived is anybody guess.

Bear in mind that the co. can oso lose a bomb.
