With Europe and USA now in financial problem , business will be  affected if there is order  cancellation.

Looking at KeppelCorp and Sembawang Marine  shares being sold down the last few trading sessions will be an indicator of how this one will be performing.

those waiting for the 5 cents dividend will regret it........from $0.79 to current price...it has up a lot already...and oil price has drop a lot...new orders will be difficult and if orders are cancel, then good luck

bounce off 1.31 and fill the gap to go up pass 1.33 again to close 1.35. chart looks nicely drawn. be watching 1.31 next few days and whether it prefers 1.37 or 1.25 level.

If this one is going for a hard fall,  better to  faster unload than to wait for  the special dividend .

Can STXOSV become the next COSCO, YZJ or NOL?

I still not confident of shorting this counter yet.

Actually the support is much lower that you stated, the present resistance is not a true one it is just that someone is selling into buyer at that price....you will see that this counter is going to dive like this

and not even the water can stop him LOL

Support appears to be at $1.33 level that the price where STX Europe sold recently

STX Europe  had entered into a separate lock-up agreement with OZ Management LP on July 8 2011 pursuant to which STX Europe agreed to not dispose of any additional shares in STX OSV until 12 November 2012 with certain limited exceptions.

With more contracts and positive news  coming in  , I think the price will be pushed to  > $2 in a matter of time before STX Europe  start selling its second tranche again by next year,

When it was trading cum dividend sometime in march(3% tax exempt),its ahsre price remained stable from $1.16-$1.22....then it shot up to $1.33 after ex for a week...during cum, probably reluctance to sell  abd the price was steady...but after ex when no loner entitle to dividend it shot up...hope similar trend will prevail this time too.I can recall vividly as I attended its first AGM at Raffles Hotel, worth parking it in cpf,I belive matter of time they will push > $2 and then STX Europe  will start selling its second tranche again by next year, meanwhile strong support at $1.33 its floor price

I think at the end of the day.. Whether to take a position or not.. It really depends.. But conventional wisdom such as not to go against trends may still apply.. Shorting on the breakouts is still very risky in my opinion.. In the case of this counter.. Breaking out from about $1.20 would have killed any shortist along the way..

That is obsolete conditioning... mind conditioning...

These days, it appears to be much better to short on the breakouts...

Old ideas cannot work in new times, and a rapidly changing world...  Smiley

I don't recommend to short.. Too many gaps unfilled and there's no clear direction in this counter yet.. Highly speculative... But one thing is for sure.. Once it breaks the previous high of $1.58 I will recommend long.. Will avoid for the time being..

So are you ready to short?
