Luckily I don't invest in Genting shares due to my belief that it is no good to be part of a gambling business.  You are shareholder of a casino that means you are " boss" of the business, however small your shareholdings are, yes you are the " boss" because when you attend agm you can make a decision or join in a decision.  Thusyou are the boss.  I don't like to be a boss of a gambling outlet, that's all.  I don't buy SGX, I don't buy banks because there are all after your money, that is it.  Lol..

All along Genting SP EBITDA is around 350mil +-50mil.
The report show GSP is consistent and much growth prospect planned and upcoming.
Those analyst who expect EBITDA 450mil and like Sands is expecting lucky everytime.

Fundamentals can change, and they really do change.  Midas is not really that bad.  It is some digruntled people secretly bad mouthing it after the China train crash and corruption thing, which really have nothing to do with Midas as it is never involved.
Midas has really disappointed RichTan several times, hahaha.

Shares of casino operator Genting Singpore PLC fell as much as 4.5% to a three week low after some analysts said its fourth quarter earnings missed their expectations, reported Reuters.
By 9:05 a.m., Genting’s shares were 3% lower at $1.615 with over 3 million shares changing hands, making it the most actively traded stock on the stock.
Genting, whose main asset is the Resorts World at Sentosa casino complex, made $398.8 million in adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation last quarter, up from $384.7 million a year ago.
Genting SP: 4Q11 results slightly below consensus, despite the boost by luck factor. RWS adjusted EBITDA came in at $406m, +8% qoq, and RWS EBITDA margin was 52% vs 48% in 3Q. This was boosted by a record high VIP win rate of 3.9% (vs 3Q11's 3.2% and normalized expectation of 2.85%), otherwise normalized EBITDA would have been only ~$300m. The headline EBITDA numbers masked sequentially weaker volumes (VIP: -26% qoq, mass: -7% qoq), which confirms the first sequential drop in VIP volumes for Spore’s gaming market. The silver lining was that RWS recovered share, 49% of Spore gross gaming revenue (GGR) in 4Q, vs 48% in 3Q, and 47% of the VIP rolling chip volume vs 44$ in 3Q. Investors may also cheer the maiden 1ct div.
While mgt guided for a slightly more positive outlook for 2H12, key risks are possible rise in bad debt provisions and high operating expense relating to the 2nd phase opening of hotels and new facilities. GENS also said it is planning to issue perpetual capital securities and has received a rating of Baa1 from Moody’s and A- from Fitch, the highest for any gaming co in the world, as mgt said it was looking to invest in new projects.
Plenty of downgrades from the Street. Citi maintains Sell with TP $1.47 (from $1.50) Nomura reiterates Reduce with TP $1.41. HSBC downgrades to Neutral with TP 1.74 (from $1.99) JPM keeps at Neutral but lowers TP to $1.90 from $1.95. Goldman keeps at Buy, but lowers TP to $2.16 from $2.22. |

I was actually about to ask one question but DBS beat me to it by a " hint"   in its assessment.
My question really is answered indirectly by it, and this is my question:
" With the vacuum created by Air Australia going defunct, how many budget airlines operating in Aussie land will fill its gap for budget travellers? Tiger Air will get how big portion of the windfall business?" . |

Question directors often when you all attend any AGM, don't stick forever to be a timid Singaporean shareholder. Any company that tells a lie, take class action against it.  This never happen in Singapore, but is common overseas.  Despite top leaders teaching all to sue any body whom one think wronged, nobody (shareholder) has learned anything. Aiya...

It is always not an easy answer. Sometimes instead of an eel, it can turn out to be a snake. Hahaha. Eels are edible but snakes can kill.

If anyone is confused, sorry as this does not apply to Singaporeans, but Singees.
My friend said, we have to differentiate between all types of Singapore people.  Singaporeans are those who are born here and citizen by birth while Singees are integrated Singapore citizens.  The two would surely have different thinking and backgrounds that characterise their lives.

I believe the reason is the super strength of our Singapore dollars that makes it more attractive to sell off Hancore shares than to make profits from the China business.  This causes the shares to be sold for its dollar than for its prospects. |

Highest was 4.5 cents?  Remembered  NTA after restructure was 7 or 6 cents.  (not vested now).  Slightly undervalued and  stagnant traded at ard 4 cents., but could spring a surprise anytime.

Some shareholders say the dividends is too small, but some may feel at least there is going to be  some yields for their investment to stay vested.  Directors have promised to give and have acted.  Of course paying too much dividends when a company is growing is sometimes not advisable, so I think that is why only 1 cent per share.

Today all eyes turn to Genting Sp full year report announced last evening. Everyone watching to see how the bbs want to play this counter.
Fourth qtr net profits of S$262.042 mil compared to prev $150 mil loss, good or bad is in the eyes of analysts.
Full year net profits of S$1.019 Billion compared to  prev $37.76 mil profit, good or bad is also in the eyes of analysts,
We got no eyes to see whether big profit or big loss. Whether the company or the group make 10 billion dollars  do not affect us, we just  buy or sell.  Lol. |
