seeing distribution on the blues. warrants are confused, both calls and puts are down. lol. watch last 5 min closing bell, likely to have hokey games then.

don't know about CFDs, but for normal trades, a brokerage house is able to carry out transactions (married deals) that are not at the current bid/ask price. so it entirely depends on what the house is willing to give you, and your deal with them. of course, a deal that is too far off the current bid is likely to raise SGX query. but it can be done. depends on whether house is willing to swallow your stake or not.

hi august,

the 'phenomenon' you described is known as churning. ie, BB play--they are 'switching hands' on the counter. So each person gets to profit a bit. When the changeover has occurred sufficiently, that's when you'll see the price move. whether it's going to go up or down (accum or dist) is as singaporegal says: see the end of day data. more lots buy up means game not over yet, will still go up.

clearer sign is MACD. SGX is likely on uptrend for the longer term.

may be a bit of a contra trap now as well. wait and see; wouldn't expect major movement today.

natural profit taking lah... sti rallied strongly for 3 days, so tech is overbought; dow futures are red, US/Yen is dropping, hsi dropped from +290 to +14, so our little lamb sti sure to follow....

yea. locked in my calls earlier and got some puts for tmrw. looks like rapid trading for this period. urgh.

be careful of last 5 min after the bell. may--i repeat, may only--see friday's phenomenon of sudden large lots buy up or sell down on some counters. with thin vols, this means change may be drastic.

hi idesa, SGX movement was in the morning; afternoon--save for one large lot transacted--the rest were small fries only. can't tell BB direction--think likely a churning (changing hands) or get prepared to short.

ok, as we speak, one large lot 250 thrown at 14.8.

deliberate lidding at $15, again at 14.9, 14.8--two single batches of 100 lots here from queue track. definite BB play.

watch 1615-1500 hrs. likely to get brought down. caveat emptor, i don't do shorts yea.

winds are changing. large lots selling. i'm just out of this. better to lock in first. dow futures red. idesa, if you're in yzj need to watch it too; churning going on. doesn't look good.  fyi caveat emptor.

i know, i seriously need to open my cfd acct man. have been too out of it. urgh. esp since the tools for predicting down is the same as predicting up, just reverse direction only. haha.

thanks to all for their advice! :)

focus on locking in this coming week liao. sti in overbought. also note quite a bit of cowboy activity on a lot of counters, last 5 min or post closing bell sudden large lots dumped or bought on counters. like SPH, singpost, cosco, yanlord. 1st two sold down, last two bought up. Signal of cowboy BBs in. be prepared for a volatile week next week. esp when vol is low, it means massive movements probable. both shorts and longs are in when hedge funds play. forewarned is forearmed.

cheers!

relax ppl...emotions do not help one in trading. let's focus on the facts, be they TA or FA ones.

FA-wise, yzj is a growth stock. so one can definitely expect high volatility. its high risk, high reward for this counter, make no bones about it.

TA for the short term: maintain that it must break 2.08 for confirmed uptrend (more or less correlates with idesa's count). there is still some distribution going on (large lots selling; not on queue, so its an indication of live playing). so do be careful.

support is at 1.84 or so. idesa is also likely right on saying that it may be bottoming out. but need to be very careful on the macrotrend. will expect this coming week to be more volatile than last week on the market.

not vested.  caveat emptor.

fwah, this thread suddenly comes alive *pyrotechnics* haha. yeps cashiertan, we all have different methods of learning. i'm building up and refining my strategies, as you so rightly pointed out. :)

monday sti shd be up in morning but i'd expect some retracement soon as those who bought in will likely cash out.

the china stocks are shooting through the roof. last 15 min movement. >~<

just hold onto this baby lah. it's rebounding. low of 5.9. likely to hit previous high of 8.1. if not by fed cut date, then in jan.

note that cosco daily movement has always been volatile (ie, large range). so a 65c movement is nothing much out of the ordinary.

vested. caveat emptor.

sorry, what's the difference between a recession and a bear? big bear baby bear? was too young for the 97 one, only have some dim memories. 01 didn't quite affect since wasn't yet legal to trade either..

well. since it's a zzz market, time to pick up on the education! :)

for the worried taxpayers *haha*, relax, i'm on leave today lah.

yah, kilroy. you sound more like you're trying to convince yourself rather than us. esp with the bit about posting trading techniques to remind yourself. LOL. great articles tho. :)

think shd get a cfd account. so many stocks can predict down, but can only sit and watch. sigh.

cashiertan, ah, i see what you mean. thanks! i was doing it by the actual wave.  very weak rally tho. bbs are in, just very cautiously and for some counters only. sgx is doing very well. hehe. and yups! i finally got my calls! heehee.

hey pwong1,

yeps, no hurry to make money. elf's got more than 30 years left, so what's the rush. :) kilroy advocates an excellent method really, for those unable to take the heat of trading. value investing, by proven record, has actually beaten most traders in terms of consistent returns y-o-y.

just that, haha, it goes against most ppl's nature i guess, to sit and wait. haha.

cheers! :)

hey jason, be careful with yzj. pic still not so clear; there's some distribution still. and can detect some heavy contra-ing by retail punters. there's strong selling pressure between 2.01 to 2.03. if you want a clear uptrend, may be better to wait for this barrier to be breached first. cheers! :)
