Move into offshore

CIMB's TP for Yangzijiang is $2.07

YZJ continues to be our preferred pick in the shipbuilding and
S-chip sector. We believe that given YZJ’s robust fundamentals
with superior execution track record and operating matrix, it
is unjustifiable to be trading at a discount to its Chinese peers.

We see stock catalysts from stronger-than-expected margins, order
wins and share of profits from associates.

Maintain Outperform.

1Q 2010 Results will be released today after trading hours. Hopefully a declaration of US$0.015 distribution and guidance for another US$0.015 for 2Q 2010. Maybe some news on vessel acquisition with their cash hoard and the charter free valuation of their vessel portfolio. Debts should be further reduced with the quarterly loan amortization of US$8 million.

What is the Size of Capital Group's holding ?

What is the PRiCE Capital Group paid ?

Started to accumulate last yr 28cent and 35cents, some buying at the range 55-$1.03 cents...  Just follow the institutional buying on this one.. Like The capital group.. ( As long as got BB support and institutional fund, and see that they are still buying at above $1 price) They are the one with big fund and doing all the research with the big resources they have) I just follow..

One thing i have learn from the rich... They use $1 to make $10 . So when it come to invest, they look for business that is likely to grow big in the next few years... (no short term target for them)..

I will cash out maybe when midas start to have sales revenue of  $1billion might take a few more year from now.. (As long as the current business model of midas is still relevant in today market)

Global recovery better than expected: SM

SINGAPORE

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, who said this in an interview with

The interview in Boao, Hainan Province, was published yesterday.

Mr Goh also said the stimulus package which China put in had also sustained the country’s economic growth, and that there was tremendous cooperation and information sharing. Through all these measures, a very much feared global recession similar to that in the 1930s had been avoided.

But while he is confident that there would not be a double dip recession now (sOunds like a STi GUARANTEE ?), Mr Goh admitted that the debt crisis in Greece does cause some worry. That’s because at this stage, it is not known if one or two other countries in Europe could also be in a similar problem.

But Mr Goh also noted that European countries and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had moved in very quickly to help Greece. They would likewise do the same if another country runs into similar problems.

When asked about Singapore giving competition to Hong Kong in the tourism space with its integrated resorts, Mr Goh said it was not a zero sum game. — The global economic recovery is better than what most people had expected, and the stimulus packages put in place by all the countries affected by the crisis were effective.New Century Weekly, also said in the United States, for example, the recovery was much earlier than expected.MUS TAFA SHA FAWI

The next day, environmental champion and former United States Vice-President Al Gore will give a keynote speech on green economic strategies for the 21st century, which will be followed by a plenary session featuring Dr Rajendra K. Will MBS be ready for its first Mice event?

Part 2

.... the end of the year.

“When we signed with MBS, we were represented that we should have at least five months of lead time for operational run-in period before our conference,” said Mr Yap in an email interview with MediaCorp.

“Despite the construction delay, MBS continued to assure us that ... they’ll be able to maintain a world-class venue and service level commensurate with the other Venetian resorts,” added Mr Yap, a director at Stamford Law Corporation.

Mr Yap’s committee has monitored MBS’ developments closely, with two site visits in the past two months, and a third to take place this week. His colleague, Stamford Law senior director Lee Suet Fern, chairs IPBA 2010’s host committee.

So while the resort is keeping the media out till opening day, the first-hand assessment from the organising committee is that things look promising.

The hotel “looks complete and ready to roll” while they were told the interior finishing work in the convention hall will be completed this week, said Mr Yap.

MBS has also promised that all construction activities near the hotel and the conference hall will “terminate completely during the course of the conference”, he said. However, work on the ArtScience

Museum and theatres which are located further away, will continue.

When asked how it was stress-testing its facilities, an MBS spokesperson said team members are undergoing extensive simulation exercises and rehearsals.

And expectations are running high, with Mr Yap’s committee striving for nothing less than a “spectacular and wonderful conference” for delegates. “We’re indeed very excited about the conference. This is something that visitors to Singapore have not seen before,” he said.

Will MBS be ready for its first Mice event?

Ne o Chai Chin  chaichin@mediacorp.com.sg

SINGAPORE — It was not meant to be the first major event held at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS). When the Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s (IPBA) 20th Annual Conference takes place from May 2 to 5, Singapore’s second integrated resort was to have been open for a few months already, with all systems fully tested and broken in. But due to issues such as shortage of manpower and raw materials, MBS pushed its opening back several times and announced in February that it would open only on April 27 — less than a week before the IPBA conference begins. So how ready is MBS? While the 850 registered attendees and distinguished speakers, including Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and former United States Vice-President Al Gore will not get to enjoy the SkyPark, ArtScience Museum and Theatres, the resort has assured the IPBA organising committee that the completed facilities will be “fantastic”, said committee chairman Yap Wai Ming. MBS will open 963 of its 2,560 hotel rooms, its casino, celebrity chef restaurants, Expo and Convention Centre and part of its shopping mall on April 27. The SkyPark and the remaining hotel rooms will open June 23; other facilities will open ....

‘Govts lack leadership’

PART  2

....to fly through their airspace but only above specific altitudes.

The Brussels-based Eurocontrol, a continent-wide aviation authority, said 30 per cent of European flights were set to go ahead from Monday. Britain, meanwhile, said it could re-open some of its airspace today.

The authorities fear the ash and dust could pose a danger to jet engines and aircraft airframes, but several airlines carried out test flights over the weekend without reporting any damage to their planes.

British Airways said its test flight had “revealed no variations in the aircraft’s normal operational performance”, showing airspace closure was “unnecessary” and should be lifted.

Uncertainties remain, however, as a senior United States official yesterday said several Nato F-16 fighters suffered engine damage from a glass buildup after flying through the ash cloud. The glass deposits are formed when ash particles pass through high temperatures.

Meanwhile, experts said the volcano has started spewing out less ash, a sign the eruption could be tapering off and Europe’s air traffic nightmare could be coming to an end.
