Unrest in Libya and threat of contagion to other oil producers region has drove crude px higher, hurting sentiment across Asian stocks. Surging oil price stokes selling as mkts fell on Thursday, fretting over the potential impact of the oil px  spike in global energy costs on economic growth.

STI index lost nearly 1%, at one point hitting  a low in six mths, palm plantation firms dropped in line with Malaysian palm oil futures on concern about slower global economic growth. 

Wilmar fell -0.17c or 3.3% to $5.03 on vol of 21,167 lots, while GAR remain - unchanged at 0.625c on vol of 96,948 lots changed hands 

Thing to note tomorro (Fri):

STI remains weak in general as the rise in oil prices adds  more worries about inflation and costs  for listed firms.

Mkt news - good or bad will always be there, those holding with deep pocket is ok on GAR. Oni for short term. This week is rather all  on bad news unfolding...thing to watch this week--oil px and  China tightening policies.

SE Asia Stocks-Markets tumble over oil price fears

* S'pore posts biggest fall in 3 months. STI falling 1.7 percent, U.S. crude futures surged to a 2-1/2-year high, hurting confidence among emerging market investors.

* East Asian markets facing inflation worries are taking a beating following the sharp overnight oil price spikes as a new ball game for equities investment emerges.

* Would investors  in Asia, anxiously is watching  crisis unfolding in Libya,  tilting away from risky assets and turning to safe havens like gold and  U.S.$

* If this continue after local GE......will it or will not...?. Got to trade with care.

I was thinking, Saudi king kakis and or his deputy prompted some good advise to him, after witnessing Middle East turmoil under current now creating havoc.

Now parting US$37 billion for up lifting it own citizens, too sudden, too much and too soon or just a bit late. All B'cos been terrified been too rich and  doing too little  for the  poor.

Unlike Singapore, we keep highlighting of our widering income gap between the richest and the poorest. So we can do it, still more can be done to allevate and up lift provety.

Now parting US$37 billion for up lifting it own citizens, too sudden, too much and too soon or just a bit late. All B'cos been terrified been too rich and  doing too little  for the  poor.

teeth53 thot--Saudi king has never seen such thing in his life,  has been put on burner and  on  tremendous pressure to deliver better living standand of living for it pple's. So sudden, so late and so much.

Unlike Singapore, we can do it, still i personally think more can be done to lift provety  bottom poor a helping hands through alleviate reform and by mean of some management statistic.

1339 GMT: German oil firm Wintershall says it has stopped oil production in Libya due to the security situation in the violence-hit country, which has 400 employees, mostly Libyans, had earlier said its daily production of 100,000 barrels per day would be reduced,  and that a small group of core workers would remain on site.

1334 GMT: Kadhafi has relied on (old method of...) political and tribal rivalries to rule over Libya since 1969, but traditional power structures are crumbling as a popular uprising gains momentum, analysts say.

" With urbanisation and development, tribal leaders have less influence on their tribe members," Mohamed Fadel, an independent Libyan analyst based in London, has told AFP.

" Kadhafi had managed to create a balance between all the tribes and clans, but this system had already started to erode," says Delphine Perrin, an expert on North Africa at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.

" Today, that power structure is crumbling with some tribes turning against him," Perrin said.

Golden agri broke it's 200day moving average support today. Further downside is expected as golden agri could potentially drop further to test it's next level of support at 0.605.

Read in CNA, after 3  for 5 right, actual dividend is at RMB 0.0153    per ordinary share.
Now it  proposed a payment of final dividend of RMB 0.020  per ordinary share,

Just wonder  how it will perform 2morro,  after receiving this news, think players is more  aware then B4.

Chart. Trenching from great height, look like is going to visit 0.250c, if it break away, next support  0.235c. Just sharing my observation.

Work lov by accountant....teeth53 thot, just my observation and this.....

SINGAPORE: Casino operator Genting Singapore's fourth quarter net loss widened 48 per cent to S$150.3 million because of an impairment charge it took on its discontinued UK casino operations.

However, the operator of Resorts World Sentosa managed to end the full-year with a net profit of S$37.8 million.

That compares with a loss of S$277.6 million in 2009.
