April 8 (Reuters) - Most regional  Asian stock mkt's eked out small gains in moderate volume on Fri, with high oil prices boosting appetite for resource shares and cautious investors chasing overbought equities.

RESOURCE STOCKS GAIN--Asian shares rose when it became apparent that a strong aftershock that struck Japan's earthquake-ravaged northeast late on Thursday had not caused major damage.

MSCI's index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.44 percent by 0929 GMT. Higher oil prices helped lure buyers to selectively pick resource-related stocks on Fri.

Technical signs point to more selling as STI edged up.

April 7 (Reuters) - Major  regional Asian stock mkt's posted limited gains on Thurs, with continued appetite for risk assets putting big caps in focus and a strong oil mkt bolstering demand for energy stocks. The easing risk aversion sentiment, generally supported by earnings optimism for key sectors such as banks, helped keep most regional indexes at their multi-month highs amid only moderate trade volume on Thurs.

Others eked out smaller gains, with turnover around a 30-day average. The region's smallest bourse Vietnam bucking the trend, slid 0.3 percent.

'Superbug' found in New Delhi water

NEW DELHI  - Urgent global action is needed to prevent the spread of a multi-drug-resistant " superbug" after it was found in water supplies in the Indian capital, doctors said in research published Thursday.

The study in The Lancet medical journal said that New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase 1 (NDM-1) producing bacteria were found in 51 out of 171 samples taken from water pools and rivulets and two out of 50 tap water samples in the city.

NDM-1, first identified in 2009, is a gene that enables some types of bacteria to be highly resistant to almost all antibiotics.

Positive samples included those collected in and around the commercial and business hub of Connaught Place and the Red Fort area.

" International surveillance of resistance, incorporating environmental sampling as well as examination of clinical isolates needs to be established as a priority," the team from Cardiff University in Britain wrote.

Mohammed Shahid, from the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital in India's northern Uttar Pradesh state, added that potential for a wider, international spread of the superbug was " real and should not be ignored."

April 6 (Reuters) - Most  regional Asian stock mkts gained on Wed on bargain hunting as investors, shrugged off China's largely expected rate increase but worry about inflation kept investors in check.

On rising oil prices of expected short supplies in the Middle East, on political turmoil and renewed debt problems in EU raised concern over the sustainability of gains in stocks.

" The worry is broad-based growth may be accompanied by much more inflationary pressure."

" China's rate hike is kind of a reminder to the region on inflation, which is the main concern at this point, while
increase in energy prices due to instability in the Middle East continues to be a source of worry."

said Song Seng Wun, a regional economist at Singapore-based CIMB-GK Research.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) said some of Asia's emerging economies were showing signs of overheating, underscoring the need for further policy tightening and more flexible foreign exchange rates to tackle growing inflationary pressures.

The MSCI index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.6 percent at 0915 GMT.

NATO vows to protect Misurata amid criticism
Military alliance says besieged town--now its top priority after rebels accuse bloc of failing to protect civilians.

Protection via war is a perfect oxymoron. Despite the so-called legality of Western intervention in Libya, it would not have been necessary in the 1st place if Gaddafi hadn't  received  a second chance  [EPA]

Like all wars, the intervention in Libya is questionable. The conduct of war for the ''protection of civilians'' provides further proof of how war makes no sense even when executed with the best intentions in mind, the absurdity of ''protection'' calls for questioning the context of the current military intervention in Libya.

Of course, this one war where academic intervention gives no comfort to Libyans threatened with death at the hands of Gaddafi's murderous forces and lijan thawriyyah or revolutionary committees.

Nonetheless, it is still a war with many a paradox.  A war that is  inevitably solidifies the cynicism in many minds that the realist paradigm still prevails in international relations as ever, might is right, the same logic which Gaddafi has deployed to save his dynasty and oppress his people.

The intervention in Libya confirms not the assumed diplomatic equation that ''legal'' war is ''right''. That is, the motivation behind the war may not be flawed, but the reasoning behind it defies logic.

Doctors said last wk--200 people had been killed in Misurata since the uprising began on Feb 17, a figure that is likely to have risen in recent days.

Wed--Gerard Longuet, French defence minister, " Libyan rebels would now be able to supply the city by sea."

" We are going to ensure that aid comes from Benghazi and that at no moment Gaddafi's military forces will be able to stop this," he told France Inter radio.

tmrw will sell some pennies stocks before it's too late. Have been postponing/waiting day by day.

But like what media trying to make it happen, year end stocks will be higher.

it's also a time to identify sticky dog counters.....dead dog in fact and kill it.
