True, true, that true, that is why now China is oso doing credit rating....China own version of course  to do U.S. a dis-flavour.

Everything is about money, nothing but ONLY money, power, money and greed, Plus self interest.

This is what the US good at create so many types of rating.. to trigger

investors fear. In the end... they are the one made profit with this type of

system that control the market.

Then, what is Tony Tan doing to race for the presidential job..?. even if and when 1 2 retire from highest office, it do not mean oneself can collect the highest salary.

" The Singaporean’s paycheck is eight times fatter than Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s"

I was wondering how for a president salary must be more then the PM of Singapore?.

Who has had to carry alot more responsibilities looking after the well being for Singapore to continue to prosper.

Law Ministry. Mr K.Shanmugan  debunks notions on what president can say.

Can ONLY speak. ONLY as cabinet advised

teeth53 thot: The role of president cannot do anything, except to collect more money and salary then what PM Lee has had to shoulder alot more responsibilities, in the name of Head of State, president is given all for what a president should receive - all the necessary potocol, respect and all necessary item.

except salary cannot (a sticky matter here), as it is a personnal salary earn (and is not taxable),  that must peg to cabinet advise for what a president can act and speak, and will not, did not be held for anything at all, even act and speak - must speak ONLY as cabinet advised.

It is all about oni for one man....perhap, will there ever be any EP election around?.

Na Tan did it, so can TT, no vote by default.... Laughing

Dr Tony Tan knew it from day one.  A Govt “blessing” could end up being, a kiss of political death.

That why...Dr Tony Tan  took pains to pre-emptively allay concerns regarding his independence,

He now want to be seen as independence of LKY for this EP election.

Even without the Govt’s tacit or express endorsement, the reality is...Dr Tony Tan is widely seen as the Govt’s preferred candidate. It is something he will have to grapple with going into the campaign. who he had been associated with  staunch support for 27 years as  PAP party cadre member to LKY.

Independence has become a prominent theme in the lead-up to the presidential election.

All three hopefuls have a PAP background.

Dow    - Stock futures do not always accurately predict how stocks will trade once the market opens.

When there is down grade. DOW chances of going up grade  is bright, enjoy d roller coaster ride.

Look like margin players has to pay back by installment if it's  $100K different or more,

Usually they are BBs (players) margin is  in d tune  to a  million and more.

that why reading news on news paper, saying  company can go bankrupt and bank collapse.

The problem with me is margin. It is easy to say but hard to control... so $$ power. If a guy has got 100K, he use up 10K so can get good entry when market crash like today. But if already bought 300K so broker will call him to top up 60K as value now only 240K. So got no choice but to sell off with big losses... this is a history repeat, otherwise Casino will have no customers

Bad, ugly, persistent  and even stubborn as what we are, die,die also must do it. (" Hard to control" ).

Money power, greed and  what it does to human, die, die also must gamble, betting and take the plunge.

Just human, fully agree with U. every one of us had to learn through it (many the hard way).

A Punters be it new or very  experience will always unable to bear losses, when it winning odd is great.

I will be back again. For some never come back...Sad.

LONDON, Aug 3 (Reuters) - World stocks fell towards five-month lows on Wednesday as worries grew that fiscal cutbacks and stagnating output would prolong a global economic slowdown and aggravate Europe's debt crisis.

" The steam is slowly building in the sovereign debt pressure cooker as the realisation slowly dawns that the EFSF doesn't have the funds to prevent a full-scale financial meltdown, which would only leave the European Central Bank as the last line of defence."

Wall Street, however, looked set to bounce back after steep losses in the previous session.

Debt ceiling deal won't restart hiring  A good example is HSBC -
